Kenyon 85424 4" Diameter Sprinkler Head Trimmer, 5/8" Steel Rod Shaft, 33" Overall Length

I've been looking for something like this for two years. Not cheaply made. It's a bit pricey, but this tool does exactly what is advertised. It's strong and heavy, with the "T" bar handle welded to the cutting cylinder, creating a step shoulder on it. The "T" bar handle is perfect for twisting to cut its way down and remove a plug of grass and soil from around pop-ups and rotors, leaving enough of the irrigation unit exposed to grasp and unscrew.My old way of getting to the irrigation unit was to lay a one-foot square flap of lawn and then excavate dirt with a spade. No more. Now I just center the tool, step on it to push the four points of the cylinder into the soil, twist, and lift out a nice plug which I push out into a bucket. I have the old spray or rotor unit out in way under half the time...and it leaves a sculpted hole that I can backfill as much as I want to produce a clean repair area that does not have to grow back in.The four points on the cylinder have sharp serrations too that cut straight through most any roots that have encroached. A big plus is that you can use this bad boy to take plugs of lawn for transplants.

Received this sprinkler head trimmer today! SO EXCITED!!! This is constructed exactly as described. It is welded, solid and easy to use. Works perfectly and makes trimming around the sprinklers an absolute breeze! I immediately took it out and trimmed grass around 7 sprinkler heads.The ground was damp which made easy work. On the first sprinkler head, I turned it to the left-which loosened the sprinkler. After I noticed the loose sprinkler, I started turning it to the right and it works beautifully. This is worth EVERY PENNY and will make the job a breeze.

I am really glad I got this. My grass/weeds in SW Florida grows quickly over the sprinkler heads and this works very well cutting the grass/weeds from around the heads. I thought it was sturdy enough that it should last a long time.

Great tool and I only have to do it maybe once a year on my lawn, usually in the spring to make sure the heads are popping up.I recommend running the sprinklers first to soften the ground. I have pretty hard clay so softening it helps to cut it like butter instead of chipping your tooth when you drive this into the ground.

This is a sturdily built tool and it cuts grass like a charm around sprinkler heads. I wish I had gotten a 6” one instead though. I have St. Augustine grass and it gets really high around the heads. A 6” barrier would have worked better but this I still a great tool. It came he day after I ordered it. Great service.

A well designed trimming tool that clears roots and accumulations from around below-ground sprinkler heads, trimming far enough back to keep the grass from interfering with the pattern as the grass grows taller. It's also a great tool for digging out plugs of grass to transplant elsewhere for filling in bare spots in an existing lawn.

It came in a hugh box! 14" deep x 24" wide x 36" long wrapped in 30' of brown paper. You should talk to your shipping folks. The tool is heavy duty but does not "pull" a plug from the ground but simply cuts the area and one must dig it out.

It worked to clear the grass from around my sprinkler heads. But it also twisted the alignment off so mostly all my sprinkler head left limits had to be reset.
