Where are these made?

They are made in China. They are the nicest scissors I have ever owned. I am a luthier, ( guitar maker) and I use them for cutting 1/4” thick cowhide and buffalo hide to make custom straps for guitar and banjo straps. They cut through leather like butter.

Does this product work?

They worked well for the cutting that I needed them for. They are nice and solid/heavy duty scissors.

Do they come left handed?

You can easily use in either hand. I had major rebuild of my right wrist and still used with my left hand easily.

are there guidelines for knowing what size to buy?

Yes, of course! If the job you're working on works best for the size you use or vise-versa, the bill will be filled. It seems logical that when I'm cutting floss for cross-stitching, I'll use very small scissors. When I cut larger sheets of clothe or leather, I'll then cut with a larger size pair.
