Nice Japanese packaging!
Works well. Tried various solutions. This was the best.

WARNING!!!!
If you are in the UK, be aware the instructions and computer files etc. are in Japanese, and even when using Google Translate they made little or no sense. Totally useless piece of garbage. When it comes to returning it, its postal address is in Indianapolis USA and will cost £27.00, just to add insult to injury PS given it one star, because zero was not an option

This capture device is the one you want. Don't waste your time with others, they all have one issue or another. Simply put this one works plain and simple. No video issues, no audio issues. rock solid. Pair it up with OBS Studio and your done! Don't be scared because its manual and install disk are in Japanese. Resources are on the web to decipher that and get it installed. Very satisfied with the I-O Data GV-USB2. After wasting time and money with 3 other devices, priced low to high this is a definite winner!

The GV-USB2 device works well. My usage is to make mp4 copies from PAL recordings on VHS tapes. My first time video editing, trying VirtualDub first. I discovered that I have to change the PAL capture frame rate from 50 to 25fps for deinterlacing to work. Difficulty getting a preview picture on VirtualDub during capture but I think this is because the 8th Gen i5 in my aging laptop is not fast enough. When I did manage to get a preview picture the gui wouldn't let me stop the capture. I'll try the Esc key next time this happens or just find a way to get a picture on a separate display.

No issues with this one for capturing VHS tapes easily using OBS Studio. It is a high quality Japanese product. Driver is full of options and features. Very stable and sharp pictures and great colors. I really like the packaging. The driver installer is in Japanese but it is very easy to translate with a smartphone anyways.
