General International 5/8 in. Tilting Mortiser

.Item arrived in perfect shape. Set up was simple. Machine operates smoothly. This machine readily cuts a 1/2 mortise through quarter sawn white oak. Make sure that you hone the chisel and drill before tackling hard woods.

The box was delivered two weeks late. When it did arrive the box had been hit a d the top of the motor fan casing was dented. The fan maladies were rubbing against the dented fan shield. I had to hammer out the dent leaving a functional but cosmetically unpleasing finish. The dent was on the brand label.

Solid tool, period. A great deal for the price because it can accept larger chisels from Lee Valley for instance, to do 1" mortises. The tilt could be a bit more user friendly, but changing this happens rare enough that it doesn't really matter.

very heavy machine. i just got it today but for much less than Amazon price. Try other on line dealers. I purchased mine at Coastal tool in West Hartford, ct. But there are others out there that are far less than this.
