I bought this (and it's not cheap) as i had heard such rave reviews. I have purchased many many expensive skincare over the years but this doesn't even come close to them, completely overrated , drying on the skin , so not hydrating at all, don't waste your money, go to Superdrug or Boots and you'd get a far superior Cleanser!!! It only gets the 1 star because you have to click on that section - it's a "0" from me!

I bought this because it was recommended by Cassandra Bankson recommended it for rosacea/sensitive skin. It irritated my skin so badly :(

I've been using DEFENSE cleanser as well as the SPF moisturizer for a few months now. I like the quality of the cleanser; it comes out of the bottle as a thicker liquid and after you start to massage it onto your face it has a creamier feel. I usually massage the cleanser for 1 minute and then rinse. After using it, when my face dries it leaves my face feeling clean without any dryness or leaving any kind of residue feel. I do have more sensitive skin and the DEFENSE cleanser doesn't make my face red or irritated at all; it's also fragrance free!! If you're looking for a cleanser that will minimize pores or take care of acne, this wouldn't be what you're looking for. But if you just want a clean feeling face with some protection from all that pollution in the air (if you, like me, live in a large city) this is a great cleanser. This was also my first purchase from PC and I definitely will keep using PC products.

This is great for using as the second step if you double cleanse. My face feels so clean but not dry or tight. I have combo skin. I love all of Paula's Choice products.

So great to find cleanser that doesn't dry u our skin. Just a small dry is enough for your face so it lasts a long time, too.

Makes my skin so soft. Gentle no harsh smell. Did wonders for my complexion. Love all the products I’ve used from Paula’s Choice.

My wife went to beauty school and fell in love with the over rated and expensive Dermalogica brand. I bought this because its a gel and half the price. We've also had good success with the Paulas Choice brand. She said dermalogica feels more "powerful" but this seems less drying. So I think for stuborn fans of the dermalogica brand could comfortably use this as their daily driver then use Dermalogica once a week or less for a "deeper clean".Me personally as a man I don't like the derms price or ingredient profile. Good brands shouldn't have scents.I prefer CerVe baby wash for my face. But I'm also not caking on makeup and stuff.
