Authentic Acoustic Guitar Strings, Superior Performance Custom Light 11-52, 80/20 Bronze

I’ve been using Martin Authentic Acoustic 80/20 Bronze Custom Light (11-52) strings for at least 10 years now. In that time I’ve tried plenty of others — coated, phosphor bronze, different brands — and I always come right back to these.I play acoustic at least 30 hours a week, and I change strings every 3–4 weeks. That works out to roughly 120–150 sets over a decade, so I know exactly what I’m getting every time I open a pack.Tone:The fresh 80/20 bronze shimmer is addictive, but more importantly it settles into a warm, balanced voice that records beautifully and sits perfectly in a live mix. They never sound brittle or harsh, just clear and musical. After a few hours of play-in they hold that sweet spot for the bulk of their useful life.Feel & playability:The 11-52 custom light gauge is the Goldilocks tension for me. I can play fingerstyle, flatpick, or dig into aggressive strumming for three hours straight without hand fatigue. Bends feel smooth and controlled, and tuning stability, once settled, is as good as anything I’ve used.Longevity in the real world:With my volume of playing (30+ hours a week), 80/20 bronze strings naturally start to lose their top-end sparkle around the 3-week mark. They don’t go dead, the fundamental tone is still there, but I change them right at that point because I’m picky. A less obsessive player would easily get a couple months. For me, a fresh set every 3–4 weeks is just part of the ritual.Consistency:Over 10 years, I can count on one hand the number of strings that had any issue — no exaggeration. The quality control, string-to-string balance, and set-to-set feel are remarkably consistent. That’s the main reason I’ve stuck with them so long.Bottom line:If you want that classic Martin shimmer with a gauge that’s easy on the hands but still drives the top, these are absolutely worth a try. I’ve trusted them on every guitar I’ve owned for a decade, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Highly recommended.

Good Strings at a fair price, Have used hem for many years and am very happy with them! The tones, briths and bass sound great in my D28.

I have an all Honduran Mahogany Breedlove guitar. I usually put on old school Monel strings that really bring out the tone wood. But the 80/20s give the guitar a bright top end shimmer. They really give the guitar a completely different sound. I am still a big fan of the Monels but I love the change up these strings give. The price for both strings makes it possible to change up every month or so. Give them a try. You will be pleasantly surprised.

This would be my 20th + times buying this product.I use this acoustic guitar string for clear tone and the sound quality is awesome. The quality is very high and it doesn't rust if you wipe them with fiber cloth after playCustom light is easy to play and easy for my fingers after a long hours of enjoying my plays.I will continually purchase this product and it's always in my cart, ready to purchase.

Other than occasionally assisting on acoustic at church, I mainly play my Martin guitar around the house for my own personal enjoyment.I just put them on this morning but they tuned up quickly. I did stretch the strings a few times after my initial tuning and had to adjust but since then, they've maintained their tuning.I had them on my guitar, tuned, and playing within minutes. I leave my guitar out on a stand in my music room. I know I should house my guitar in its case when not playing but I like to have it within arms reach. I can't speak on the longevity since I leave my guitar out and that will have some effect on the sound and tuning aspects. However, they sound great right out of the package and they're offered at an affordable price too. I like having these authentic Martin strings on my X-Series guitar. I'll continue to order more as needed.
