Dodo Mat Super Liner 12mm (1/2") Roll, 3sq.m Car Van Sound Proofing Insulation Foam

I've been using this successfully on top of the sound deadening layer, to insulate a ford transit van conversion. The closed cell structure repels water and also insulates well. I got some 6mm and 12mm. It is hugely sticky stuff, so once it's on it isn't coming off. I find it best to apply it in sections rather than one large piece. I don't use a vapour barrier when I use this stuff. This closed cell insulation stops the moisture-laden air getting to the bare metal and condensing, so as far as I'm concerned it does NOT need a vapour barrier as well. Others would disagree, but it's a really contentious issue. For areas that need a deeper layer of insulation (like in the side panels of the van, I use the sound deadening layer first, then closed cell foam (this stuff) and then the recycled plastic bottles insulation, before then putting a ply layer over the top and carpeting the surface.

Cuts easily with a fresh Stanley blade. Very sticky so adheres really well. Made a huge difference to sound and temperature in the van. Feels almost warm to the touch when it’s negative temperatures outside. I’m sure it’ll be a good in the summer too.

Good thickness with insulating and sound protection properties. VERY sticky so be sure when it's down you don't need to adjust it. Covered 2 wheel arches and the whole headliner with one 3x1 roll (Ford transit high top).

Stuck on nicely but not too quickly so you have a bit of wiggle room. Has made a difference to my van. Am toasty. 😁

Seems ok on flat surfaces. But seems to shrink and expand under hot and cold conditions so keeps coming unstuck from the ceiling of my van. The silver sided version doesnt have this problem so id recommend that instead. As i think im going to have to redo mine.

This thing is great, honestly. I used it in my room for sound insulation. Needs to be covered, obviously, otherwise tears, but it's nice and soft under my carpet. My downstairs neighbour doesn't hear my steps as much.

This is not insulation as described. This is sound deadening only. I'm now over 300 euros out of pocket due to the description saying its thermal liner. This is not a fault by dodo,this is incorrect information provided by Amazon
