Repeater & 3 Songs

Anyone remember how The Clash called themselves "the only band that matters"? Pure BS! They mattered, don't get me wrong, but the only band that ever deserved that title was Fugazi, and this is the album that mattered most for them. The only real negative I can think of is how pointed the politics of the lyrics here can be. I really don't think that's a negative, in fact I wish musical acts were as pointed today. The ideas presented here are important, and the lyrics are just as relevant today, in 2016 (especially in this election cycle) as they were when this came out in 1990. The only reason that I'd call it a negative is that it made it so that their excellent song writing ability on the albums following this often seemed over shadowed by their politics. That's not really me stating my opinion there. I remember, when I first got into Fugazi at, like, 15 or 16 years of age, which was around the time that we finally got internet in my home. At that time, I still read things like Rolling Stone, and I remember reading their reviews online which rated their albums lower than they deserved while giving snippets making fun of how they were, 'more like, commited to challenge'. This is why I'm glad to see print on the decline. It's upsetting to me that this band was so passed over because of their politics. For me, the only thing that matters in music is the music, and the compositions Fugazi created are all excellent. This album's probably my favorite, as I think it's aged the best out of all their work (it's between this and Red Medicine for me). The music captures the dynamics that made the 90's perfectly, and the politics in the lyrics only add to those dynamics. This is pure, real punk rock. If you call yourself a fan of punk, this has to be one of your favorite albums, period. There's nothing simpler. The reason for that is that this album is entirely substance over style. No one seems to remember that's what punk is supposed to be about any more (in part, because bands like this were overshadowed by the punk sound of Nirvana, a band that I deeply admire and respect while at the same time I'll admit they might have killed punk rock in this pure, unadulterated form. That's not Nirvana's fault, as they were the musicians and not the marketing teams, but man, think of how different today's punk might be if they never signed to Geffen). I wanna echo other reviews of this album by saying Fugazi may have been the last true punk band to have ever existed. The music here is at least on par with Sonic Youth, in terms of composition. It's layered; it's textured; it has the perfect mix of gritty, sand paper like sounds and soft, smooth, marble-like sounds. That's what Fugazi deserves. Recognition for their sound over their politics. Their sound is sharp, it's more pointed than their lyrics, and this album deserves everyone's ear. This album deserves to be preserved in the national library of congress, like Nirvana's Nevermind and Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation. This is some of the best art our country has ever produced, and it deserves to be recognized as such. If you think you like Punk Rock music in any capacity, and you've never heard this album, buy it now. Right now. Don't go on YouTube, don't just listen to it for free. Fugazi are more than deserving of your $10. Even if you have Amazon Prime, and can get it for free, you should pay for this album. You should purchase it digitally. Then purchase the vinyl for a physical copy. This album is worth it's price 100x over. I'm not saying that it's the greatest album of all time here, but I will say this album deserves your money more than any other album in existence. It's worth every cent just to show that we need more music of such high quality in this modern day and age. This album has my highest recommendation. It's not my favorite all time album, but I would recommend it over any album I'd rank above it. That's weird, right? Well, I'd give that recommendation because Fugazi are to music what Bernie Sanders is to politics, and, more than anything else, are entirely worth the time, effort and money required to hear what they have to say. No questions asked, I would recommend you spend your hard earned dollars on this fantastic album.

I bought this album without knowing to much about Fugazi I heard great things so I decided to check it out and I’m really glad I did because this album is fantastic, from start to finish I was having a great time and never got tired of it and immediately listened to it again after and then again I only put it away after I needed to go take care of something’s, also for the price it’s definitely worth it and it also sounds great, I can’t wait to get the rest of their albums which are also sold for around the same price. Overall if you are into more post hardcore then you should definitely check these guys out and if you didn’t know Ian Mackaye the frontman for Minor Threat also fronts Fugazi which somehow I didn’t know but anyway GET THIS Album

It is great, but my childhood friend claimed it was his favorite, and he preferred it over 13 Songs. I disagree, but it's still bada'. It's Fugazi!

Great Album Arrived safe and sound

Everything about this buy was perfect. The packaging was done well, it came in pristine condition. The press sound absolutely amazing: from the bass tones to the drum sound, it’s all so very good. If you like Fugazi, then you MUST buy this on vinyl.

I don't feel like there is much left to be said about this album that already hasn't been said. Its an absolute classic and a wonderful entry into the world of Post-Hardcore. When i say Post-Hardcore I mean the amazing genre that started in the 80's and ran throughout the early 90's. I am absolutely NOT talking about those horrendus screamo bands that were popular in the late 2000's and early 2010's that also received the table Post-Hardcore for some reason or the other. This album is a fantastic listen, engaging from front to back, and you pick up new themes and lyrics every time you listen to it that totally change my perspective of each song. One of my all time favorites.

It was the first album I ever heard that all the songs seemed to fit together like a puzzle. It is among my favorite alums of all time. I have yet to hear a bad Fugazi album but this is the best one

Klasse CD welche nicht umsonst im Musikmagazin Rolling Stone erwähnt wird. Die Songs selbst sind klasse und die Aufnahmequalität ist im Längen besser, als alle anderen Fugazi Alben. So macht Punk richtig Spaß. Die Musik selbst finde ich ohnehin sehr gut, wirklich schade, wären die anderen Alben von Fugazi in dieser Qualität aufgenommen worden, würde ich die anderen Alben auch sehr gerne hören. So denkt man immer, was für ein Jammer, wären nur mehr Alben dieser tollen Band, klanglich so gut geraten.

Premier véritable album après 13 songs, Repeater reste un disque essentiel du début des 90's qui annonce un grand potentiel pour ce groupe issu de la scène hardcore.
