Effective, lightweight, the pump is fixable.
As a redhead, sunscreen is always a part of my daily skincare. I have tried so many sunscreens over the years and my dermatologist recommended this. Elta MD Clear is the only facial sunscreen that doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin and protect without a white residue. It is light…even my husband who hates sunscreen on face commends the ease of application. Doesn’t burn my eyes. Works well under powder foundation. It is pricey, but worth it! NOTE: a couple times I’ve noticed the pump stops working, this is bc it is an airless pump system. (Think of those orange pushup popsicles from childhood) To fix, with cap on, turn upside down and hit bottom of bottle 8-10 times and it will pump perfectly. Don’t forget to reapply!

Really like this sunscreen, but it’s kinda pricey
I’ve been using EltaMD UV Clear SPF 46 for a bit now, and honestly, it’s one of the better sunscreens I’ve tried. It feels super light on my skin and doesn’t leave that annoying white cast like some others do. Plus, it doesn’t make me break out, which is huge because I have pretty sensitive skin. The only downside is the price — it’s definitely on the expensive side for everyday sunscreen. I’m willing to pay more for something that actually works and doesn’t irritate my skin, but I wish the bottle was bigger or that it was a bit more affordable, since you gotta reapply sunscreen often. Also, I think it’d be cool if they added some natural ingredients like aloe or argan oil to make it feel a bit more nourishing and soothing, especially for people with dry or sensitive skin.Oh, and fun fact — I saw Bryan Johnson (the biohacker guy who’s super into longevity) uses this brand in one of his videos, so that’s kinda reassuring!Overall, it’s a solid sunscreen that does what it’s supposed to without feeling heavy or greasy. Just wish it gave a little more bang for the buck.

Holy grail for acne prone skin
I’m not kidding when I say I’ve tried so many sunscreens over the years and this one is hands down the best one I’ve ever used. 100% worth the hype and money. It’s lightweight, non-greasy, and completely absorbs into the skin without leaving a white cast. Perfect for everyday wear and doesn’t pill with other products or under makeup.I have sensitive acne-prone skin and this sunscreen doesn’t irritate or clog my pores at all, but at the same time doesn’t feel ultra drying or make my skin feel tight like a lot of other sunscreens. If you’re looking for a reliable daily sunscreen that protects, nourishes, and feels amazing on the skin this is it. Highly recommend!!!!

Love
have been using the sunscreen for 2 years now,and it is easily become a staple in my skincare routine. what sets this sunscreen apart is how lightweight and gentle it feels on the skin. I have sensitive skin and this formula doesn't clog my pores or cause breakouts -if anything, it is actually helped calm redness. I always had trouble with different brandsIt goes on smoothy, absorbs quickly, and leaves no white cast, which is a huge plus, I also love that it provides broad-spectrum protection and includes ingredients that support overall skin health. Whether I am spending a day outside or just running errands, I feel confident knowing my skin is protected.Overall, this sunscreen is a holy grail product for me. It is effective, dermatologist recommended and worth every penny!

Mixed bag, I only use if NOT going in public… read why
Short answer: it piles and flakes offOkay, this is an interesting one. I had a facial treatment done that has left me with very sensitive post inflammatory skin issues, including one that the dermatologist thinks might be a form of rosacea. Basically I can use cetaphil face wash and Vanicream daily facial moisturizer and nothing else, as I react to everything else. But, I need an SPF, we all really should be wearing one daily. ChatGPT recommended I try this one (thanks AI). I have been using it for about a week and so far it hasn’t caused any irritation, bumps or new flare ups. The problem is what other reviews have already mentioned, it piles and flakes right off the skin. I tried mixing it with my moisturizer and it still flaked off. Bummer.I was about to return it, but because it actually seems to calm my skin I have decided to keep it and use it as an “at home only” sun protection product. Yes, you even need SPF protection even if sitting inside your house. The light coming through windows is enough to benefit from SPF protection. So, when I wake up in the morning I put this on right away. In this way I am at least SPF protected while I make breakfast or do house chores, even if I do something outside like take out the trash or gardening. It’s also fine for just sitting around watching TV.But, if I am going out, then I shower it off and start my usual product routine without it. I can tolerate the EltaMD UV AOX Elements Tinted Mineral Face Sunscreen Lotion “a little bit”… I still get a few bumps though. However, if I am just around the house and not in public view, then I am very happy with this product and the lack of irritation and actual calming effect I get from it, along with knowing that for those hours I am UV protected. The product does have a scent! It is an almond extract scent. I am very sensitive to scents and don’t love it, but have found it tolerable and while it does linger for awhile, it eventually fades (or my brain just begins to ignore it). It hasn’t been a deal breaker.
