Alex Plus Spackling

I love this clay! It was a bit off putting when I first opened it. It seems hard yet stretchy. After grabbing at it and getting a chunk. It was soft and not very stretchy, worked it for about a minute or two and it was very pliable! I could get it fairly thin, it would be perfect frosting on a clay cake!! I used some silicone molds for a different project. I tried some kids soft clay from my super store. And then this clay. Con: this clay dosent pick up tiny details. And you kind of need to stuff a lot in the silicone mold to pick up the basics. But that's just in the case of silicone molds. Don't let that discourage you. I also used a lollipop mold and this clay picked up the swirls perfectly! So I guess it depends on the detail your going for. Pro: the clay held up! In the ice cream mold I used, they both got squished a bit. The kids clay flattened. While this clay bounced back! I gently adjusted it a bit and it looks like nothing happened! Overall I recommend this clay! No strong funky smell, fairly easy to use, non toxic (amazing for me because my cat loves to try and put her mark on everything 🙄😂) and light weight when it's dry! Absolutely perfect for my making of figures and things!

My product arrived in flawless condition. A few reviews claim that the product arrived damaged e.g., broken container, dried up product, damaged lid. In my case, the lid was taped closed ensuring it would remain intact during transportation. Air filled-bags provided shock absorption inside an appropriate sized box. The product was of proper consistency, and manufactured relatively recently (batch code indicates manufacture date of 8-August, 2020. Product received 5-November, 2020.) The box was also hand delivered despite the man having to walk up 4 flights of stairs. He also wore a mask and verbally identified himself and asked for my name before handing over the goods. Above and beyond the call of duty. The product itself is excellent. It goes on very smooth and doesn't leave an orange peel pattern. Other brands are thin or airy. This spackle is nice and dense and creamy, requiring only one application. For the price, you can't beat it. Vastly less expensive than the warehouse stores, and offering double the amount. 5-stars. This is the Heinz Ketchup of spackle.

Works way easier than pink stuff

This spackling was priced well for the quantity. It maintained moisture level well throughout my project, and was easily workable. It also sands nicely. Do not try to smooth it perfectly when applying in one coat, however; though it resists shrinkage, it is not immune, and will dimple if you smooth it flat on the first application.

I have used the product "Crackshot" for years as an exterior patching compound. I was disappointed to see that it apparently has been discontinued because you can no longer find it anywhere. I couldn't find any other comparable products at the local stores. I did try "Platinum Patch" from HD, which was terrible....it dries so hard it can hardly be sanded. I found this product on Amazon (not sold in local stores that I could find), and it is very good, and very comparable to Crackshot. I use it on exterior trim (must be painted). It is very easy to work, sands effortlessly, and is incredibly inexpensive.

With a house full of boys, our walls have seen many substantial holes. This is the best spackling paste I’ve ever used. It is smooth, stirs easily, applies consistently, dries surprisingly fast, and accepts paint well. Once painted over, you cannot tell the difference between the spackle and the drywall. I didn’t realize how much spackling paste came in this order (my own fault for not reading thoroughly), so I was pretty surprised with the amount at first, but the lid seems to seal nicely and I haven’t seen any indication of it drying inside the tub.

I am not sure what the pros use, but this was recommended by the big box store if you don't care about other features and just want basic spackling. This was a thick paste that goes on pretty easily with a putty knife, washes off or wipes off easily before it dries, and dries hard in 24 hours. So it was easy for DIY to fix the occasional wall dents and corner scrapes. This arrives fast, and well-packaged. And you pay about the same out of your pocket as the big box store, but you get 2x the amount; so a terrific deal. I recommend minimizing the tub's exposure to air, because this will last for many jobs (for me). Just put an amount on a paper plate and work with that.

I use this even when joint compound would be cheaper, because one coat beats 3, it sands very smooth, dries fast, and holds up. Not the professional use, but that’s because of price, Which is nevertheless reasonable.

Terrific quick drying filler gunk. Works like a charm. Easy to sand.
