This does the job repeatedly and reliably when stepping wire. No stragglers after stripping. Clean cuts. I’ve grown to respect and trust Klein tools. It’s a safe and reliable brand—quality tools.

Man am I glad I got this guy. I've been using the standard wire strippers with the specifically sized, sharpened holes (you know the type) for years and years and have always just thought they were a big pain. Even ones from good brands had a nasty habit of cutting into fine stranded wires so I would have to either use a bigger slot or the correct size slot, but not closed all the way to score around the insulation and then tear it the rest of the way off. What a pain.This one is 100 times easier. As long as you stay within its capacity it has absolutely no problem stripping fine stranded or solid core wire. And there's not really any adjustments or care needed with regard to gauge, as long as you are under a certain size. There is a tension knob that I think is supposed to fine tune it to certain gauges, but I never bother. It's not intuitive at all as to what it even does. Anything below 10 awg strips easily (except for some multi-conductor wires) and 10 is alright too sometimes, though the thicker the wire the harder it is to get a specific amount of insulation off.There's also the little depth stop thing that really helps keep the amount of insulation removed over a number of wires the same, which is super nice. It itself is kind of a pain to adjust though. The locking screw for it seems really inconsistent as to how much you need to loosen before it'll move.Overall though, for pretty much any wire smaller than 10awg (and occasionally 10awg) and single conductor (and sometimes multiple), this is a completely brilliant stripper and you totally need one.

The set screw does not lock the length bar in place keeps coming loose. Other than that the tools work as designed, I purchased both the stripper and the crimper and I am very satisfied with the performance (except for the set screw) these klien tools have given me.

These wire strippers are great. I chose these ones because I know Klein tools tend to be pretty high quality and I buy them whenever I can. These work great on individual wires and on stripping the sleeve off of romex. I recently did a pretty big lighting job in my basement and these saved so much time by being able to just strip off the sleeve from the romex. I've used these quite a bit, as even my job requires quite a bit of electrical work building prototypes and test systems and I do a lot of wire stripping. So far I have not had any issues with them. They remove the insulation off of wires and cables like it's nothing.

Very solid product, works as intended and for far more than it was designed for.This is my second purchase of this item and I swear by this thing. 🙌

When they say “Work smarter, not harder”, in electrical, part of it means buying the right tools. And I can say with great confidence these are one of the right tools.It’s rated for Romex (NM-B), but I also have gotten it to strip straightened out UF cables. It strips outer insulation jacket and wire insulation jackets fairly consistently. It requires almost no adjustment for most residential wires. The grip and design are excellent, they are comfy and fit right in your hands. Will buy this again when it breaks after 10 years of normal use.

Better than Irwin. I had Irwin and it couldn't strip the 20 gauge insulation. It was new. I gave up and ordered this one instead. It is much better feel to it and operated correctly with no issues with 20 gauge. Can strip 10gau as well easily. Irwin is wider and Klien is slimmer in your hand when squeezing the handles and wrapping your fingers around it
