Fits the bill for gluten free and vegan, serious protein source
Has a slightly pumpkin spice flavor to it and very dry/fibrous. (my tastebuds are very sensitive these years, and that is what it tastes like). It works best added to sweet versus savory (sugar vs salt) items as the sort of sweet overtones may come through the latter.EDIT, this stuff tastes much better now, less pumpkin skin that you licked, and less gritty. Will still give it five stars. The jar got larger and comes one scoop over being half full (settles in shipping I believe). I bought two of the new formulation and was able to fit almost all of it into one jar (minus two scoops). I don't know if I like the new 'corncob' style scoop but at least it is seethrough so you can see if it's fully packed, I often have to use a finger to push a bottom gap full and rescoop to fill the scoop. Rest of unedited review below...I can tell that this packs a protein punch, adding it to okara allows me to make a 'porridge' that approaches the same protein content as meat, without the cholesterol. Very palatable and best in some sort of moist product to help hide the dry mealy-ess of the powder. The scoop seems a bit large, you do not have to add ALL of that to your smoothie or puree, just be aware of what a serving size is (one scoop). It does work well in sweet potato or tomato based soups, with spinach or avocado as well. It is well complimented by cinnamon, nutmeg, and stevia or raw sugar. With being a medical vegan and celiac, this supplement is gluten free and also helps boost my protein intake easily. Do make sure that you are eating a balanced diet, this can help you get the nutrients you need. Highly recommend. My doctor approved it, and it is helping me fill out my frame after a necessary catastrophic weightloss.

Even this skeptic fell in love!
I generally HATE HATE HATE protein mixes, bars, concoctions and solvents of any sort! But when I was recently told by my Dr. that my protein levels were far too low I went on a hunt for protein I can stomach (which usually means hold my nose and guzzle as fast as possible, then chase with something more tolerable). I was recommended this by a friend, and although skeptical, I didn't have much to lose, considering at that point I had purchased 8 different types of protein in a month, and couldn't stand one of them. Some were as expensive as 75+ a container! And tasted like drivel!!! Then I got RAW PROTEIN and mixed it up, I first tried it in just water and I must say, Not bad! I can drink it that way, and did for the first week. The protein powder itself has almost no smell, and when mixed has very little taste. It does have some taste but isn't unpleasant and is very faint, it is almost like a faint almondy taste or something hard to explain. I now like to add it to almond milk or soy milk (reg milk would be fine probably I am just intolerant) and I add one individual sized container of vanilla yogurt (any flavor would work, thats just my fav) and mix it up and its delish. I now have perfect levels of protein and my daily regimen doesn't involve gagging and eye watering to get there! Awesomeness! The only minor drawback, and I do mean MINOR for me is that it never fully disintegrates. That is why i like to add the yogurt, since the thicker consistency helps to coat the granules and make them unnoticeable. Its no big deal and definitely easily outweighed by the positives of this wonderful mix.

The Closest Thing to a Raw, Vegan Meal
I think I've tried all the vegan protein powders out there. This is the first one that I didn't have to "settle" for. There are others that I like, but this is the only one that is truly smooth, and can be mixed with water, almond milk, or whatever without using a blender. I was amazed at that. Other reviewers comment on the taste. It is one you have to get used to. Americans are addicted to sugar, and to food, in general. For this reason our taste buds are compromised. We have been led by the media to believe that sugary cereals and other highly processed "foods" are "healthy."It is my understanding from all the recent research that sprouted beans, nuts and grains are full of life and health, particularly when they are "raw." I was pleasantly surprised by the ingredient list for this product when I found many sprouted foods. This powder is easy to digest, and I believe the nutrients are most likely easily absorbed and utilized because of the digestive enzymes and probiotics. I have trouble with my digestive tract, and I had no problems at all after drinking this shake. I generally like to use unsweetened almond milk and peppermint oil in my shakes. As far as I know the peppermint oil helps with digestion. And I like the taste.I'm glad I found this powder. I plan to take it camping, along with dried foods. The price is great through Amazon, and I always know that Amazon's customer service is unbeatable. They are one of the only companies I know of that allows you to talk to a person who is truly concerned about your satisfaction and will do anything necessary to prove that quickly. Thanks for carrying this product at such a great price.Update: I've tried even more brands since I wrote this review. I always come back to this one. Not for the taste, but for a few other reasons:1. It's only 1 point on Weight Watchers.2. I can always digest this, without any bloating or abdominal cramping at all.3. I add my coffee to it for an iced coffee drink because the acid in coffee hurts my stomach and bladder. This product must be alkaline because it seems to neutralize the coffee acid. No stomach or bladder pain. The taste is not great and it's gritty. I put one packet of stevia in it. It's worth it to feel so good and it's so easy to stick to a Weight Watchers using this. I will keep buying this.
