Works with Netgear
Works exactly as intended and can be paired with Netgear powerlines as well. I was looking to purchase a single powerline adapter from Netgear but they only sold them in packs so I decided to take a risk and buy this instead. Both adapters work the same way in terms of connecting and using them so I had zero problems adding this one onto my powerline network.

Watch out! Connectivity and synchronization issues!
Originally purchased two TPL422E units. Many hours later, got the two to synch, NOT following directions, but by trial and error with the synch buttons. Purchased a third 422E for another room; cannot get this one to synch with the other two. Called for tech support: despite her and my best efforts, the woman was barely understandable. She gave me solutions I could not implement.I recall reading that the SIDE OF THE BREAKER PANEL may make a difference in whether these will synch. I'm not going to rewire the panel. I will return the third unit, but will say that a) these things are very difficult to work with, and b) Tech support needs to speak at least a modicum of English! NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER.

It does work as decribed but is not easy to setup :-(
**setup instructions were very sketchy -- but I did find a file (manual) at last that describes how to do it and it all works good and my Data transfer / communications across my WIFI has increased to excellent. ** Note this is a wired connection back to the Router Product that uses your network VIA an adapter to send through your AC electric lines internet signals to other devices thereby expanding your wired network**This is not a product for a non-technical person who is not skilled in network products. I have over 21 yrs. experience in the field. I rate it overall a 4 because of this. I have that PDF(Manual) file that solves the connections issue between additional devices. I would post it here if I could. But one can find it.

Not User Friendly
Tried my best to get these to work; nothing doing. Tech couldn't figure it out. I returned them.

Really poor performance.
Im a power user when it comes to tech but I also love a simple solution. My house has some internet issues. Its hard to get a decent signal all throughout the house. I have a few Unifi access points throughout the house. Originally I was working with 2 of them meshing to the one hard wired one but with a 7 IP cameras , and all of our TV and basically every service using the internet speeds have not been great so I installed a moca adaptor set got managed to get semi wired working to at least my upstairs bedroom (and put one of the 2 APs that were meshing on that)Still I have issues at the garage and the cameras that are out that way.I had solar installed and they installed 2 of these trendnet powerline AV devices so I thought Id try piggy backing on that. I have a couple of these :https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HSQAIQU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1and some OLD dlink modules laying around..The Dlinks were pretty awful so I moved to theTpLink one.. It was doing ok but there were some dropouts., I assumed that because they were so old buying othis trendnet one that matches the other 2 would likely be at least marginally better.I got it the other day and its been nothing but problems. The config tools they give you are garbage and they have never released a firmware update for this model. With 3 of these trendnet devices I am seeing an avergae of 250 to 500 Ms ping to the third one. My cameras are up and down all day...I went and plugged the tplink one back in justg now.. less than 100MS which mostly is what I was seeing before.I would avoid this model if you are thinking about it... I dont think this is the one.

Easy to use and setup.
This was easy to install and use. Just plug it into an electric outlet. The included management software is used to download firmware updates for the installed units in your home. You do not need the software loaded on a pc in order to use the devices. The software needs to be updated by the manufacturer to use Npcap instead of Winpcap. Winpcap is old and no longer supported by the developer.

YOU HAVE TO BUY TWO FOR IT TO WORK
THIS PRODUCT WAS DECEIVING BECAUSE IT DID NOT SAY THAT IT NEEDED TO SETUPS IN ORDER TO GET WIRELESS IN OTHER ROOMS. YOU NEED ONE TOBE CONNECTED TO ROUTER AND THE OTHER TO HAVE THE WIRELESS BOUNCE TO IT....IT WAS TOO EXPENSIVE TO BEGIN WITH AND NOW I'M STUCK WITH IT TOTALLY USELESS!

Works out of the box, but beware of the outdated software
This product works as advertised, and it has increased the throughput of my power line network, but there are three significant flaws I've uncovered.1) The sync feature just does not work. Following the instructions results in the modules losing communication. Resetting them back to their factory defaults clears up the problem, but you are stuck on the default security password.2) I thought to download the latest version of the power line utility from TrendNet's website but Malwarebytes indicates the site is possibly infected with malware. This could be a false positive but it does not inspire confidence.3) If you do download the utility program it requires the additional install of software that has not been supported since 2013.So, if you just want to use it out of the box and don't care about the configurable security capabilities then this will work. Beyond that, look elsewhere.
