Excellent cable and software
Have tried other programming cables and software for my radios. Some work, but many do not.I like Chirp for my Chinese handhelds, but enough RT software niceties were included to make it a winner for programming my newly acquired FT-7900. Also RT's description of the radio's capabilities and how to program, were much better than the manufacturers. (I long for the day to have radios not be computers with RF decks.)Stated again the RT cable is especially outstanding. They have got to have the most easy setup I have ever used. It is a snap and worked the first time connecting the radio to the computer.I know you are saying what about the cost? Worth every penny!!!

Not all that & a bag of chips
Look, I know everyone is totally enamored of RT Systems, ooooo ahhhhh, but there seems to be, in amateur radio today, a definite love of spending money. "I laid out cash for this so it simply MUST be better."I have used Chirp and I have used RT Systems. They both work but Chirp is free, the software anyway. $10-$20 for cable. RT Systems? $50-$70 for cable and separate software for each and every radio I own. hmmmmmmTop that off with the fact that Chirp is easy to use. Downright simple, in fact. It doesn't have all the "bells & whistles" of RT Systems but that just makes it simpler to use and it gets the job done just as well. Yes, I have heard horror stories about Chirp ruining radios but I have never actually seen it happen. I've seen radios die from all sorts of reasons but never from programming software issues.RT Systems software? You need a friggen four year degree in how to use this software!! I'm not kidding and their "how to" videos are a joke. If I have to listen to one more minute of that stupid music!!! I mean, I am not opposed to learning new things but I am very opposed to wasting my time when there is other software out there that is 1) free and 2) MUCH easier to use.Bottom line, RT Systems works but I think I shall stay away from it in the future, I have better things to spend my money on.

Highly Recommend - It will simplify your Life!
This software and data cable will simplify your life! If you have a great number of frequencies to program, this is so much simpler. The software is very intuitive, easy to use. Since I own three FT7900r transceivers, this really adds to the convenience and keeping each radio's continuity the same. So, using one unit, I can use another without worry or concern. They are all programed the same. Highly Recommend. Ships immediately and comes in a great box to store the CD and data cable. Worth every penny!

Quick delivery. Simple programming.
The software is used to program memory channels and settings on the Yaesu 7900 2 meter/70 cm amateur radio. Easy learning curve. Successfully saved my frequency choices to the radio....so much faster than programming the channels individually through the radio itself. Only disappointment, I couldn't figure out a way to import/paste my frequencies, etc. from a csv list. It may be possible, but I couldn't manage it. Once I stopped trying and simply typed the data into the software form...it was smooth sailing. And I was on the air quickly.

Worked perfectly and easy to use.
I read some reviews where people had issues but I found this software and transfer cable to be of the highest quality and my Windows 7 desktop found everything it needed to just plug and play. I was able to import my CHIRP CSV directly into the Yaesu software and then transfer directly into my Yaseu 7900 which had me on the air within minutes of unpacking my new 7900.

Sweet to Keep You On Target
Simple to install and use and a lot better for me than trying to figure out the button mess on my first rig. If you just got your ticket, find an experienced Ham to go along with the software. It's just better all the way around to have human guidance. I am 70 years old and can't half see anyway...LOL But I do think this is a good investment for anyone.
