Love this stuff, swear by it. Best shine touch up and makes pores nonexistent. My last one lasted over a year so just purchased again.

Doesn't Work for Me
I'm a 52y/o woman with the usual skin concerns as women's age... Patchy, dry skin, t-zone oily, & my pores are getting larger by the millisecond. The first day I tried this I didn't realize there was a protective film over the product. That film REALLY, REALLY needs to be in color, or have a colored tag on it. YOU CAN'T SEE IT b/c the product is clear, as well. If you've purchased the product you know exactly what I mean. Anyway, I tried it again this morning (the 2nd day I had the product), & all it did was make my foundation sink into my pores. As if that wasn't bad enough, around 4pm (approx. my 4th hour at work) I look in the mirror & I'm horrified. My foundation actually moved...I had foundation smears all over my face. No, I don't touch my face... Not only b/c of COVID, but many years ago a derm told me about the gazillions of germs that are transferred to our faces from our hands. Since then my hands don't go near my face unless they're very clean. The packaging for this is great. The usual Mally bright pink compact. I didn't like the sponge that came with the product. It doesn't need to be so thick. If I were to carry this in my purse makeup bag, I'd have to put it in a Ziploc. A thinner sponge to store in the compact would be much, much more practical.Just for transparency same, this is my makeup routine...1) Clarins daytime lifting moisturizer w/SPF... Let it sink in for a couple mins2) Rhianna's primer...I can't think of the product name off hand & let that sink in for 30 secs - a min3) E.L.F Pore Putty primer in my t-zone, sides of my nose & apples of my cheeks... All areas I have swimming pool size pores... Let it sink in for 30 secs - to a min4) Makeup Forever foundation5) Urban Decay eyeshadow primer6) Dior concealer7) Laura Mercier loose powder...I substituted this for the Mally Evercolor Poreless Face DefenderWhen I use just powder, my makeup is great throughout the day. With the Mally product... Forget it8) I continue with my blush, highlighter, eyeshadows, etc.I'm a counselor, so it's not like I'm running around the office. In fact, I sit too much! Take my review as you will. This was my experience, & I wanted to let y'all know about so you can look at the product's pros & cons for yourself.Enjoy, & take care!

I Love It!
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I got this, but as a makeup artist & fanatic I was really intrigued. It’s a clear wax/gel, I didn’t even see it in there when I first opened the compact lol I’ll say that first that I agree with everyone complaining about the packaging - it is VERY difficult to open & that is frustrating. But, I really like how the product itself works. I’m using it in place of setting Powder because I was dry skin, even worse in the winter, & you could see streaks under my eyes towards the end of the day… like not even it sitting in my fine lines, but no matter what concealer/powder, etc. I did, I’d always have word lines at the end of my day. So I was hoping this could help. And it did! No more stalls under my eyes & my makeup looks super smooth at the end of the day. The pic of me in yellow is after 9 hours of wear, the other is me after 7 hours. I was really happy with it!I also let me girls at the office try it & they love it too! I just use one side of the sponge, I do one good swipe, then pat/stipple it into my face over top my makeup, repeat for each cheek & my forehead. Then I carry on with the rest of my makeup like blush & contour as usual. I think for me it works in place of setting powder & I’m digging how smooth it makes my face look! I would recommend this to anyone having trouble with their setting powder or wanting to try something different.

Miss the old applicator
I've been using this product for years (because I love it, ever since they had a pop up at my local Ulta Beauty years ago. But I can't get over the flimsy sponge applicator they've started using. Originally, the primer came with a nice, thick wedge sponge that was great for application. But my most recent purchase came with a flimsy round sponge that makes application more challenging. Yes, it can be stored inside the container which may be a plus for some, but it's not worth the hassle in my opinion.

Product changed
I used to use this product about ten to fifteen years ago, never had any trouble. The product stayed in the compact and I just used it until it ran out. I use the product once this time, closed the compact, and the next time I opened it, the product was globbed up between both sides of the contact. I'm sort of shocked because it used to be a pretty solid formula unless you really dig in. You also used to be able to press the product into the skin and it would really fill in even a harsh line. I guess this is like a lot of things, including the construction of clothes nowadays, where cutting costs and improving profits I guess due to inflation has just impacted formulation. I'm seeing it with everything I buy now days. A lot of the brands I have been loyal to for years have changed, downward. I will say that it does still matify without a powder look, so I will be keeping it. I'd still buy, it's just super messy now. Not as solid/thick.

It was like I ordered it from EBay
I’ve bought this many times because it’s a great product and does it claims to do. I gave it 2 stars because it came without a box, and without the makeup sponge that usually comes with it. It’s also the old style of compact. I thought I was buying “new” as the other times. I had to double check and make sure I didn’t order it from EBay, I didn’t so I’m not sure what is going on, there was no explanation as to why this would be different than the other times I’ve ordered this item. It’s disappointing and I was charged full price and it isn’t cheap. Not crazy about this seller, Mint Blossoms, maybe EBay would be a better selling platform for them.
