Works well with Technics
Great quality head shell and needle for the price. Good sound quality and a fairly robust needle for everyday listening.

Simply excellent. Even with the price hike.
I bought one of these just last week for £79 so the current price is a real increase. Despite that, I can't recommend it enough. I've used my old Stanton 500 on an 80s Hitachi deck for years, now however it's impossible to get quality stylii for them so I took the plunge to upgrade the cartridge. Reading some hifi reviews these modern Audio Technica cartridges scored very highly. Looking on Amazon I opted for a complete new head shell option to save myself the hassle of fiddling with little wires and fitting the cartridge into the old shell. Fitting the shell takes seconds on any standard tonearm. Honestly; the sound quality is sooo much better. I am hearing things on records I've never heard before. Little details, better clarity, nice separation and depth. Plus the ground hum that was audible with the old cartridge has gone so that's a nice bonus. Great purchase.

Great cartridge
Great cartridge... I'm no expert, but the music sounds nice. It accepts different stylus from AT. I have one stylus for New records and one for secondhand records, they are so easy to change.

The sound of music :-)
Next day delivery with Prime. Literally take the unit out of the box, attach the headshell to the arm with the locking collar, balnce the arm, check the alignment (which was spot on in my case) and set the bias. Then away you go !!! Oh, and the most important part is the new set up sounds great. Execellent tracking, seemingly fewer clicks and pops compared to old cartridge and accurate reproduction too. A great buy for the money

Genuine Audio Technica Product
I was having sound issues with my turntable so opted for this genuine replacement cartridge. It literally is a question of removing the old and plugging in the new, then re-balance the tone arm and you are good to go. End result is superb sound quality again. You can go for just the stylus as a cheaper option but then that means fiddling about with wires and to be honest for the extra cost this replacement cartridge is definitely the way to go.

This Cartridge Is Amazing!!!
I purchased this cartridge (pre-mounted in a head shell to save faffing about) as a backup for my Ortofon OM10. I already own an Audio Technica AT95E cartridge, which in my opinion is workman-like but unremarkable, so I thought I'd take a punt on its replacement to make a comparison. I swapped the head shells, re-balanced the arm to the recommended 2.0 gm tracking weight, reset the anti-skate and played my favourite 12 inch (Sadao Watanabe's "No Problem") with some trepidation. The result was nothing short of staggering. Straight out of the box, the VM95E had more presence, channel separation and overall performance than the OM10. There was a very tiny shortfall on the very bottom end of the bass register, but having played several more records since I can already hear this dissipating. Apparently you are supposed to give this cartridge 20-odd hours of playing-in time. If it sounds as good as this on first use, I can't wait until it has been burned in! Considering that the Ortofon Stylus 10 costs more on its own (54-60 pounds) than the entire VM95E cartridge assembly (44 pounds), and only slightly less than the pre-mounted VM95E head shell assembly (70 pounds), there is no contest. The VM95E is musical and responsive, and has a punchy presence that the OM10 doesn't have. Horses for courses, I know, but for 44 quid you really can't go wrong.

I upgraded from the AT91 stylus and I am Amazed at the difference (EDIT) May 27th) Ok so now I've had this stylus just over a month now and I can tell you yes the sound is just terrific BUT. Yes this is a BIG HUGE BUT, You see I've never had a stylus that was so sensitive. I mean just have a little dust and you get a skip or the sound starts getting all staticky as if the record is worn out. That's what it sounds like if your record isn't completely clean and or completely dry from the record cleaner that you've just used. Yes that all sounds normal that if your recordsis dirty then it's gonna affect playability right? However it's just way too fragile and If I ever stumble upon a stylus that sounds just as good and is more durable than this stylus I would definitely purchase that stylus instead even if it was a few bucks more Having said all that it really does sound very good, I mean imagine one of your favorite records that sounds really good Well guaranteed it's going to sound amazing using this stylus! Ok folks enjoy your vinyl and remember a bad pressing will sound like crap regardless of what equipment you use. Cheers!!
