Ubik: SF Masterworks

Probably picked the wrong book to investigate Dick's work, could'nt get into the jargon. Although his work makes phenomenal screen adaptations!

This is a complex read. The disjointed nature can throw some people for a loop, but I feel Dick really delivers with Ubik. Highly recommended.

A 'classic' that did not age very well. I'm not sure why this one is so highly thought of. I guess the story line was supposed to be very disjointed, but it left me confused and unmotivated. I finished it just because that is what I do, but this one will go to Goodwill and good riddance.

I recently read this actual copy,and I can see that Philip Dick sure knew his stuff when it came to writing SF. The story,while it was suspenseful,and at times frightening with a sense of background dread,I found it to be a very enjoyable read. I also read that there were plans to make it into a movie a long time ago,but for a variety of setbacks it has yet to ever be made.Personally,I hope they in Hollywood get it together and make an adaption of this sci fi classic.Time will tell. Either way,UBIK imo is a FTW of a read!

I have been after this book for some time but as I buy many books it had to be at a price I could afford, first published in the early sixties, it shows it`s age but it just goes to show what can happen when we lose our soul.

Another wonderfully told story by the master in the genre. SUch a strange world - so well described.

This product was in excellent condition and very reasonably priced.

More usually found in some poetry purchases. I ploughed ahead and read the book.
