PLCs - what they do - how to work with them
I knew very little about PLCs. Reading parts of the book on my Galaxy S4 explained what PLCs do. Further reading gave me direction and insights into programming.I have the opportunity to program PLCs in my job in the future so I will be returning to this book.So far the book has meet my needs. There is available a PDF of the images in the book which, at some time, I expect to refer to extensively. My bias toward enjoying multi-culturalism shows in that I enjoy the bit of authors "twang" as found in this book, my perception anyway.I'd recommend this book to any colleague seeking PLC basics up through programming. I have not yet done the programming, but expect to with this book.

Great buy!
The content is great, excellent graphics and examples, the author knows much about teaching. He starts off with very simple setups and programming examples which helped me a lot with a basic understanding of how a typical PLC works and then familiarized me with the most used instructions when one is dealing with the A-B family of PLCs especially using RSLogix 500 software. I disagree with the other reviewer about the format of the text, it is great as well

Comprehensive, user-friendly, great support
This book is an excellent introduction to PLC programming with RSLogix 500, and for me a great introduction to PLCs and ladder logic in general. I previously tried to conquer Yaskawa's Ladderworks and walked away bewildered and defeated. I said to myself I would choose a better format and learn from there and not give up.The author is also very responsive to any questions and helpful with any issues related to using the book.Keep 'em coming!

I Respect The Attempt - But This Just Isn't Good Enought
Although I respect anyone attempting to present some teaching material for PLC programming and specifically rslogix 500 programming, this text really REALLY is not at a publishable stage yet. It is basically a first draft that needs a great deal more attention to language, syntax, and examples to be helpful. Technical manuals are difficult and I compliment Fattahzadeh for what he has accomplished, but proofreaders and editors are a critical component to the publishing process.

kinda plain!
its like a colledge text book no flaver. I with these guys would write with some real world explanations and not just step by step with rare to little examples. maybe show some practice or common application in the explanation. read it you'll see what I mean

Don't buy it
This book is just horribly, horribly formatted for the kindle. I can't even comment on the content, because the reading experience is so unpleasant. There was apparently no proofreader or editor. There are many blank pages, text changes size for no apparent reasons, an amazing number of typos, and the drawings --a crucial part of the book-- are rarely near the page where they are discussed, and generally so small that they are incomprehensible.

Interresting
A very good introduction to RSLogix 500. Ask for the pdf version, it is free and way more easy to read.

Ideal for beginners and mid-level
I bought a couple of books for programming Allen Bradley, as I started a new job and had to make the transition from Mitsubishi IEC to AB RSlogix. At first, it felt like a step back, coming back to a "ladder" environment, as well as learning new data file types etc. Anyway, I opted for the book, but only for saving on my PC in Kindle format. The author has also been kind enough to send me a PDF copy, which meant I could carry a copy on my smartphone.Overall the book is clear, concise, what I expected to be honest. The author has tried his best to explain things in plain English, I certainly helped me in setting up the PLC expansions etc., and once I'd got the hang of RSLogix, the book is still a good reference point to go back to, time and time again

Allen Bradley for dummies
If you use Allen Bradley PLC s you should buy this. It's not generic, basically it's RS logics 500. Nice book for those who aren't really experts but use PLCs. And you get an adobe file if you ask for it which is a nice touch. Now do one for 5000. 500's a bit out of date.
