I bought both a shell and complete button set from eXtremeRate.The replacement shell is a perfect fit. Everything snaps together with ease and the screwholes are all drilled properly. Swapping out the shells was not too difficult, but I definitely recommend watching a video on YouTube if it's your first time. The only real difference in quality I notice between the original Nintendo shell and the eXtremeRate shell is that the eXtremeRate back plate has a bit more flex to it. After installing, you can feel a small pocket in the center that bends just a tiny bit when you squeeze, but this is very inconsequential in my opinion. I am still excited to show off my new custom Switch. :)I bought a separate set of replacement buttons because the shell comes with black replacement buttons, and I just didn't think that suited the pink/purple/gold marble design very well. I did have to use a nail file on a few buttons to smooth out the nub that was left when I popped the button out of the manufacturing frame because the nub prevented the buttons from fitting properly, but that was no biggie. After filing, they all fit perfectly. The home button comes in two parts and was kinda fiddly to put together. I ended up supergluing the two pieces together because for whatever reason, the gold button did not want to stay in the opaque casing for it. I love that the set even comes with SL/SR buttons! It's little details like that that make customizing so satisfying.I've bought other eXtremeRate products for various consoles, and they have all been very consistent in quality and fit. I absolutely recommend this brand to anyone who is looking to customize their gaming systems!

This company is the top of the top in customizations of gaming components. Quality of products is same or even better than original components, very beautiful items with lot of options to choose from, they provide you full detailed video guide how to install replacements making the process really easy and safe without worrying that you will break anything, they provide you all necessary tools to do replacement yourself and they even provide extra new screws and bolts to make sure everything is put back together with perfect precision.

Love that thos kitchen came with extra screws and springs! It looks fantastic on the white joycons!Please keep in mind that disassembling joycons and putting them back together isn't a straightforward process. Do your research! This product did cone with instructions, but I just watched a few YouTube videos first.

I like the slight change of purple as you move the controller around but unfortunately I couldn’t use all the buttons. The home button isn’t flush with the clear casing around it so I kept the one original to the controller instead. In one of the pictures you can see the home button slightly raised from the clear casing around it along with my controller with the original, flush, home button. Other than that I had no other issues, the rest of the buttons fit like gloves in the modified controllers and are ready to beat everyone in game night.

This was the absolute worst purchase I’ve ever made. Not only am I sending this junk back and requesting a refund, it actually RUINED my controllers and I had to order new ones! It’s a cheap product to begin with but they don’t even include actual instructions, you have to watch a 15 min video that flies by, so you have to figure out what they’re doing. This is one product Amazon should remove immediately. I hope I can spare someone else the headache and money I’ve been out due to this AWFUL PRODUCT. Please, just buy a face plate if you want to change the look. Unless you work with computer mother boards for a living, it could cost you $$$ when you have to replace the controllers. I’m absolutely livid and if I could use profanity, I would. Save your money and buy something else.

How my switch have a nice housing (gray), i wanna only to change the buttons. also i ordered the chrome gold backplate, because this combination looks pretty, gives a unique style mixing the original microsd cap & joy con housing. Extremerate gives a nice package, including the required tools to demount the switch and joycons, but beware, here are some PROTIPS:- Do not screw so hard, because this way is how many persons broke the thread of the screws, or the plastic thread, or until damage the screw driver.- Before screw up with the pieces mounted, try to screw on the plastic, to leave threaded the plastic done, when come the moment to mount everything.- The Extremerate youtube video show how to mount the pieces, but they didn't disconnect some components like battery, haptic coil and rail circuit, if you have good skill, may be more easy to disconnect thee components, to avoid to damage ribbons, connectors, ect, takes more time, but may be more secure.- If you can, try to have a better tool set, i do not blame extremerate by these tools how done many customers on reviews, else i thank you guys, for that details to give us all necessary tools , but i have yrs working with gaming technology, demounting for maintenance and modding, for that i use a professional toolkit.
