More than doubles the base game
Always loved the base game but the replay value stalled rather quickly. This expansion adds two full new card sets for the base game, as well as two alternate variations that add some much needed variety to the base game. It's all very flexible, so you can play with new players or experienced ones. The new cards focus on increasing the strategic element, essentially removing a bit of the chance that comes with dice rolls. Definitely good value for the price if you like the base game.

Lots of new content
It got about as many new cards as the base game and the modules add a decent amount more to the strategy of the game. I think there's a lot of really fun new cards with a few duds.

A solid expansion with great artwork and minor drawbacks
Pros: Interesting new cards and die faces keep things interesting Great new artwork Enhances and improves the original game Each new element is surprisingly balanced, and makes it possible for each player to use a different strategy to win. Cons: As with the original, the instructions are not always very clear, and are sometimes ambiguous The new modules add extra time to the game by potentially lengthening each player's turn.

Add high re-play value to a already good game
I really enjoy the base game, but have played so many times already, so it becomes a race of who gets certain pieces first. This adds new life into a good game.

Great Variety, Replayability...some of the same issues as base game
Definite success as a gift. The luck factor of the roll of the dice is an obvious issue for a strategy game, but overall quite a lot of fun. This expansion cures some replayability issues with the base game. However, even bigger than the intended randomness of the die....The gorgeous illustrations could use a few usability upgrades: It's really easy to mistake cards for fire or ice and end up putting them in the wrong place during setup because the icon in the bottom corner is transparent rather than colored. Also causes issues with putting the game away. And WHY isn't the name of the character on the card? Seriously, pick a language if you don't want to reprint—ANY NAME WOULD HELP. Looking things up in the directions is a bloody nightmare. Overall, personally, I give this game a C-. But some game players I know would give it a B+/A- I expect. Why 4 stars? 60% amazing illustrations. 40% intriguing originality. Honestly, I find this game a lot more enjoyable than I would expect just because it's so unique and beautiful. Obviously if dice randomness bothers you...run away from "Dice" Forge.
