The Magic of Ordinary Days

I wasn't going to watch this movie because I thought it looked really sappy and cheesy. But I saw a few clips on YouTube and thought the acting looked good and the costumes/set was historically authentic. This movie is really good. It's a slow paced look at people. And it's old enough that it doesn't try to preach at you or jam an ideology down your throat. It's simply a good story about people and how they are (the good and the bad). It looks at how poor choices can hurt others and how joy can be found in the day to day beauty of trying to love people where they're at.

This movie was so excellent that I decided to purchase it. It’s sweet and wholesome, I love that there’s no naked scenes. It’s the kind of movie you can watch anytime. It also depicts World War II Japanese camps well. I have not seen another movie a long time highlight the social norms of the time.

How many times have we watched this? One of our members couldn't stop watching it, like it was a weird amount of times, even for us. Ray is just...a gentleman's gentleman. So sweet. Livy such an interesting character, gentle loveliness about her, Florence and Rose's friendship, precious. Explores such deeply beautiful themes, with faith wovenly intertwined in. One of the most wonderful Hallmarks we have ever seen. Costuming, scenery, camera work (it's got that 90s-early 2000s film quality that we adore) Only thing, what on earth was that leg pan in the boat...and the cgi dragonfly? What?? -The Tight Squad

This was a really good, feel good movie where the decent guy wins in the end. I always like movies that have admirable characters and this one had many.

This is a Hallmark Hall of Fame quality film. Great love story set during WWII. I like it enough to watch over and over when I am in the mood for a good, clean love story.

wonderful movie, great for fall long evenings!

I love this movie on so many levels. Beautiful scenery, wonderful costumes, and good actors. But what I love most is we see these great relationships develop right before our eyes. Friendships between women of different stations in life; the friendliness of church members, learning to be appropriately interested but not prying; brothers and sisters working together and still knowing how to respect personal matters; and finaly, the growth of a beautiful marriage relationship that started out as a mere convenience. This whole movie is a pleasant surprise if you like more subtle action in a movie.

Really good and fast delivery

A very good film which was well acted. The story is good and you felt you were there.

Beaucoup de finesse dans ce film dans lequel deux personnes de milieux totalement différents se marient par convenance, et finalement apprennent à se connaître et s'aimer... Très beau jeu des acteurs. C'est un film reposant... Dommage cependant que ce DVD soit introuvable en français !
