When I ordered this, I didn't pay too much attention to the size of it. My experience with battery jump packs is they are fairly large and heavy packs bigger than the car battery itself. When this turned up I thought I had the wrong delivery it was so small. I was quite astonished and a little pessimistic that this was going to jump start my extremely flat 2l diesel Motor.I commute to work by train and therefore have driven my car less and less, so the battery has become flat now we've reached winter, which is why I picked one of these up from prime for next day delivery. On receipt I put it on charge (it was fully charged in less than an hour) and took it to my car.When you connect it to the battery, if there is a good clean connection you will get a message on the front saying ready to jump start. With that I turned the car over and with relative ease it turned my engine over and started! Very impressed.But my experience doesn't end there. This weekend my battery was so flat that it couldn't even lock my doors! When I connected the jump starter today it came up with a message to hit boost.. So I hit the little boost button and instantly it jumped to the ready to jump start message. With the boost on it was like I had a brand new battery in my car And turned it over so easily it started almost instantly.It uses about 20% of the charge of the pack when jump starting so in theory could be used up to times to get cars started.I has a light, which is handy to help guide you under the bonnet when hooking up at night (Like i did the first time)and you can actually use it as a mobile phone charger/ powerbank. not something I would use, but handy for some I suppose.Overall an Amazing little pack which makes me feel less worried about my car not starting- Although I think it's time for a new battery anyway!

I ordered this in advance for when the colder weather hits. Last year I had a flat battery a couple of times with the cold weather, but at £180 for a new battery I decided to not replace it just yet. I purchased a battery jacket to keep the battery a bit warmer, and then this battery charger for back up to be kept in the boot.It had 75% charge when I received it, and took around an hour to be charged up to 100%. It all stores in it's own little carry case perfectly. I am actually really surprised at how small this is - it's around the same size as a small tablet (Amazon fire if you have one!) and a little bit heavier. I honestly thought it would be a lot bigger!I have a 2.5 litre petrol car, and this fired it up right away. I connected it to the charge points under the bonnet, let it sit for 10 seconds, turned the car on and it fired up right away. I hopefully won't have to use it in the winter, but at least I know how reliable and easy it is to use should I need to.The casing is made from a high quality, durable plastic and has a good weight to it. It also features a handy torch function so you can see in the dark, and also 2 USB charging ports so you can use this as a powerbank too.

Edit - a completely flat big engine needs the 'boost' function. Not covered in instructions but you then need to push in a recessed button with a biro or similar. Awkward (especially if you don't have one out and about!) and the cover of the button has now snapped, so hit and miss whether I can operate the boost function. Design fault so for the (high) price I have taken 2 stars off as it is not as reliable as it should be. On the plus side, you can still see where North is...This performed well. I needed something tough enough to turn over a 4.2 litre petrol engine with a completely flat battery, which it did with ease. I've used it a few times as there is obviously a fault with the battery, and each time it has worked well. It uses about 8 or 9 % of charge to start the engine. I've also used it to power an air pump for the tyres using the adaptor, so it is versatile. It is easy to fit into the glove compartment as it is compact. It was exactly what I needed, so it is a bit mean-spirited to take a star off for the ergonomics. The cables for the crocodile clips are a bit short, and I found the gape of the crocodile jaws to be slightly smaller than ideal so I had to wiggle them a bit to get a good grip on the battery terminals. However, it wasn't that difficult, just a minor inconvenience when leaning into the engine bay, perching the charger somewhere very close to the battery and then doing a bit of wiggling to grip the terminals when preferring a simpler bish bash bosh and not too much fiddling with battery connections. But it does what I wanted and can start a big petrol engine impressively. I was nonplussed that there is an inbuilt Xmas cracker quality small compass..

After some incidents that happend to my friends i said that i definitely need a car jump starter, it’s a product that in my oppinion every single car owner should have it, cause you never know what can happen.I can say that i’m very very happy with this purchase, it does so many things. I can use it as a power bank cause my car socket doesn’t charge quick but this device charges my phone pretty quick, impressed. Also it does have a LED torch and a input for a 12v socket that comes as a part of the set. Nice and comfy case. It’s quite heavy but this is how it should be. Sturdiness on its best.Well, as i said i’m very happy with purchase and it looks of a great quality, so far i have used it for charging my phone via usb and 12v socket, i didn’t have a chance to start my car yet, hopefully i won’t have such a chance but when i hold it in my hand it makes me confident that this starter will do what it says. Highly Recommend, worth of money.
