Great product so far.
We have had one similar tea maker machine for years. It finally gave out and the pitcher was getting cracks. I looked at many other machines but just had to go with what I was used to. This newer model has a much more sturdier pitcher. It fits perfectly under the “beak” of the machine. Using this machine is really easy. Because we make very strong sweet tea. We fill the pitcher to the top. Fill the tea maker to the top as well which leaves water in the pitcher. We brew and the strong tea gets mixed with the ramaining water. While still warm we had sugar and any other flavor we want. Let it cool down and voila. I saw comments about how it’s messy to remove the filter because it drips. Well yes it will drip. I suggest placing the machine next to the sink or place a towel or container under the filter when moving it from A to B. Also regarding the stains. Me clean sponge works well. Or baking soda and vinegar as well. I am not too worried about the stains. Tea stains. It’s a natural. So long as you wash your pitcher and filter after use and regularly with hot water and soap you will be fine. The stains do not carry any germs it’s just discoloration of the plastic ... Beside nothing is ever spotless when used. That’s the beauty of it.

Mine doesn't work as it should.
After 21 or more yrs using my trusty and still working west bend ice tea maker I decided to get a replacement but only because I drink a lot of tea and my west bend is a 2 quart tea maker. I really wanted this just for the 3 quart capacity. My west bend makes fine tea. After unboxing and setting it up. No harder than my west bend. I sat back and waited for it to finish brewing. After it shut down signaling it was finished, I found about 1/3 of a quart of water still in the machine and water still in the cup with the tea bags. The amount of water put in was exactly 3 quarts measured from the 3 quart line on the pitcher. This has never happened with my current tea maker. After making several more containers it has done the same thing. It doesn't use all the water that is put in the reservoir. Not really sure what the mechanism is for the shut off to stop. If it were water level it would appear mine is malfunctioning. Somewhat disappointed. The maker was only $20 so the time involved in boxing and returning just isn't worth it. The 3 quart container separate is around $15. So i'm just going to keep it for the 3 quart pitcher. Overall I'm disappointed. ** UPDATE ** As I mentioned in my initial review - I really had high hopes for this tea maker and despite it not working as it should I planned on keeping it so the most recent pitcher of tea I made I added more water than what was called for. Filled the water reservoir up past the fill line. My thinking was if it was shutting down early without boiling all the water, maybe adding more water would at least get me to a full 3 quarts. I was surprised that it boiled all the water this time. not really sure why. So, the next pitcher I make I'm going to try the same thing. If it works then I'll revise my rating up since besides that problem the tea maker brews fine tea. Not better or worse than my west bend. But being able to make 3 quarts instead of 2 is nice. Revising my rating to 5 stars. I've been making a pitcher every few days now and for the most part if I fill the reservoir up to the top past the water fill line It boils all the water out as it should.

Easy, delicious iced tea
Back when I got my first paying job, I bought one of these tea makers for my Mom, and I have never looked back. Since moving out, I have been through several different models of Mr. Coffee tea makers, with varying levels of success. Some died premature deaths, and some just couldn't make a decent glass of tea. I finally found a blue 3 quart, in this style, that lasted several years before going out. When it did, I came straight here to buy the exact same model, this time in teal. You just can't beat this one for simple build quality, convenience, and flavorful tea (for best results, use two Tetley tea rounds). I plan on running this one into the ground, and buying another one when the time comes.

Does the job for me.
This is really easy to use. It seems well made although the combo is a bit large and awkward on the counter. It is not going to win any artistic design awards. But it does the job well enough. I plan to look for a better storage pitcher for the prepared tea since the lid on this one isn't designed to be air tight (although It gets consumed quickly here). I've tried a couple types and this one is good for the price. It prepares the tea without any odd tastes I've experienced with some others.

Makes excellent tea!
Makes excellent tea! I bought it to replace my old Mr. Coffee that was 10 years old and not working properly. The pitcher on this model is much better than the one that came with my older model. The old pitcher was not dishwasher safe and this one is. It's easy to clean the pitcher and doesn't stain. The tea maker works the same as the old model. Fill it halfway with water, put the tea bags in the holder designated for them and the water gets hot and squirts over the trees bags just like a coffee maker. You're supposed to fill up the pitcher with ice but I never have that much ice, so I just put cold water in it along with my spenda (5 tablespoons) and put it right into the fridge. Tastes the same, you just have to wait for the pitcher to get cold, and if you had used ice it would already be cold. The unit has to be flat on the surface it's sitting on so you can't put a couple of paper towels under the edge to catch the drips you get after you take the pitcher away. The pitcher that comes with it is the only one that will work with the unit, because of the pitcher's unique size, height and the long spout that catches the tea when it drips out of the tea maker. The trees brews really fast. It takes about 10 minutes total to get it ready and the tea maker to be finished brewing. About an hour after that to get cold if you don't use ice. Tastes great! Much easier and faster to make than boiling a pot of water and steeping the tea bags.

Great for frequently making iced tea with loose leaf teas!
I use this several times a week to make iced tea. It works well and I've NEVER experienced the leaking that other people complain of -- all I can imagine is that they don't line the pitcher up under the spout; seems simple enough a concept for me and it works flawlessly and mess-free every time. I use 8-cup sized paper filters inside the basket to filter my loose leaf teas (I never use bags): 1 X ROCKLINE BASKET COFFEE FILTERS (8-12 Cup Basket) 700 Filters . I've used it so much that my refrigerator ice maker can't keep up so I've had to get a counter top ice maker appliance! I also bought the replacement pitcher so I can have two flavors of tea in the fridge. Mr. Coffee TP70 Tea Maker Replacement Pitcher for TM70, 3 quart, Clear/White

New Product---Better Quality Than the Old Model and A Lower Price...I LOVE IT!!
Love my new Mr. Coffee Tea Maker!! I had an older model which did its' share of the work and more, but did tend to leak a bit the whole 10+ years I used it. When the hard plastic tea container finally cracked, I was forced to buy another. Imagine my shock when I found this newer model for less than the older one!! This new, more usable plastic well for making the tea and the heavy, unbreakable pitcher is great!! The size is wonderful and the mail teamaker can easily be pushed to the back of my kitchen work space out of the way!! Also, the plastic on the pitcher is of much higher quality and the size fits perfectly in the front of my fridge, taking not nearly as much space as a large Rubbermaid pitcher, but holding the same amount. Call me a pleased customer. Bed, Bath and Beyond delivery was early and packed perfectly. Call me quite pleased, indeed!!

Great tea maker.
It makes tea quickly and simply. Does it's job. We are on our third or fourth Mr. Coffee tea maker. UPDATE: Still five stars but only because of history with product. The most recent purchase went bad after a few months. Stopper came out and it made a horrible noise. Requested an exchange and immediately had a new one sent out. Took the machine out of box, but old one back in with all the new pitcher and other items and shipped back bad one. Easy and quick.
