ETI SuperFast Thermapen 4 Professional Thermometer - Patented Automatic 360° rotational Display (Marine Blue)

I'd read many recommendations - this (and its ETI cousins) are true professional cooking thermometers - and bought one. It is an amazingly impressive piece of kit. I used to be a research scientist, and have used "proper" scientific instruments, including temperature measurement devices. This IS a proper scientific instrument - it's a proper thermocouple thermometer, with the thermocouple mounted right at the very tip of the probe - but it's built to be used in a busy, wet kitchen. Amazingly well thought through - the Thermapen 4's auto display rotation, auto sleep and auto backlight are brilliant "usability" touches - and well built. And it's ACCURATE and fast! I tried a proper ice bath check, and it read 0.0 deg C. Brilliant!

My first meat thermometer. Very easy to use and clean. Comes with a good instruction booklet. Looks good as well.

I checked many reviews before purchased it.The only down side is it's not pretty.
