1) Unlike other quick-release prop-guards, these include the actual guard as well! Others cost the same but only include the quick release mount. 2) They are an upsize (for 9" props) so i can run larger Phantom 2 9450 props on my Phantom 1. 3) They are much stronger than some other reviews here had me believe. Worst case, they are 90% as strong as the stock DJI guards. 4) Overall finish isn't stellar by any means, but who cares - they fit well, are solid and are easy to take on and off. 5) A negative is that they weigh 149 gms vs 77 of the (smaller) stock DJI guards!! That's a big increase! All in all, I'm quite happy with the purchase. It'll make traveling with my phantom a lot easier.

I've been flying DJI Phantom since DJI Phantom 1. To date, I've owned three DJI Phantoms and this is the first DJI Phantom that I have installed props guards on. I intentionally didn't install prop guards previously because they made the DJI Phantom 2 or DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus too large to fit inside of a carrying case. These prop guards are EXCELLENT because they quickly snap off without tools! It's easy to land the DJI Phantom 2 and have the prop guards disconnected a few seconds later. These prop guards pay for themselves by saving propellers! Even the most skilled DJI Phantom pilots damage props unexpectedly upon landing. These also help to reduced prop damage while bumping into an object unexpectedly during flight. The quick-disconnect piece remains attached below the four motors. Installing that piece was a simple process. It's just a matter of replacing the factory DJI screws with the longer screw that stick through the quick-disconnect piece. These prop guards have not degraded the flight dynamics of my DJI Phantom 2 in any way and the red color pieces are great! I mounted them on the front of the DJI Phantom 2 to function as a visual way to see which end is the front of the Phantom. I'll never fly a DJI Phantom without these prop guards! I'm so glad that these prop guards were brought to market!

This is a well made product. It comes with everything you need including the allen wrench and longer motor mount screws to compensate for the thickness of the mounts. The guards snap on and off very quickly and easily. Just be sure, if you ever remove the mounts for whatever reason, you MUST be sure to REPLACE THE ORIGINAL SCREWS. Otherwise, you will permanently damage your motors by threading the longer screws into the inner motor workings. Many people have made this mistake and ruined their motors. The only other thing is, if you ever want to remove the top of the Phantom shell with this installed, you will have to remove these mounts to get to the screw located on the bottom tip of the wing. A better design would have allowed access to that lone screw on the wing tip allowing you to remove the shell without having to remove these prop guard mounts. Finally, many believe there is a slight increased risk of VRS (Vector Ring State) with these attached.

Very well packaged and great attention to detail. I was slightly skeptical after reading other reviews, but as of October 2015, mine came with two sets of screws, each labelled, one for Phantom 1 and 2, and the other for the Phantom 3. Next pleasant surprise was that there were two Allen wrenches included, one to remove the original phantom motor mount screws, and the other larger size for installing the new mounting screws for the Phantom 3 (the one I bought). I also skeptically checked the length of the news screws and they were exactly the correct length when adding the depth of the new prop guard mounts, so no trouble at all installing. There were also 18 screws, not just the required 16 in my Phantom 3 bag, nice touch. Upon removing the original Phantom screws, I noticed a very small amount of blue Loctite at the distal tip of the threads, so put a similar small dab of blue (medium) Loctite on the new screws. When installed, the fit was perfect for the original blades for the Phantom 3 Professional. (I did not use the cord to connect the outsides of the individual prop guards.) I kept the original screws if I decide I don't need the prop guards in the future. Great option for me as a new Phantom user.

The removable feature is a real Plus when you carry your drone in a case as most cases do not accommodate a full size drone with prop guards. It's a good idea to have prop guards just as a safety feature. They're not training wheels, they prevent you from being sued when your runaway drone runs into a spectator performing on their head the same operation as a Cuisine Art might. Yeah, you'll lose a half a minutes time. Buy another battery and fly safely and have consideration for others... maybe even for yourself if it performs a boomerang maneuver when it decides to seize control of its operation all by itself. That all being said, it is a little bit challenging to remove the guards from the Drone when you pack up. I found that using a flat blade screwdriver to depress the prongs on the clips is the best way to get them off. In fact, so far it's the only way I've found.

Being a relatively new UAV pilot, I had an encounter with a lamp post on about my 5th flight (prior to these prop guards.) Understandably, props stopped, Phantom 3 fell like a rock about 15' to the grass. Luckily no harm done other than one broken propeller. Recognizing an immediate need for this item, I purchased them that same day. They install easily, they snap on and off easily, and the red helps identify the orientation in the air. Today for the first time I tested their functionality - by accidentally backing my UAV into some spruce trees about 50' off the ground. Other than a slight wobble and a spray of spruce needles everything worked fine - the aircraft stayed in the air and I was able to continue. Upon landing I had to wash off the green patina that the props, guards, and top of the UAV got from the shower of foliage - and I'm good to fly again without damage! I'm almost positive that without these guards, I would be deciding how/where to get my Phantom 3 repaired.

Prop guards are a must have for any skill level because they greatly mitigate the damage to the props caused by the nuisance bumps and nicks that WILL happen even to the most skilled drone pilot. I give overall Quality a 4. The guards feel thick and sturdy and not at all "flimsy" as some others have stated. They are heavier than the branded DJI prop guards for the P3. I take off one point because they feel a little rough and unfinished. However, the fact that the red guards give a larger visual reference to the front of the vehicle is extremely useful. Installation is quick and intuitive. I take no points off because there are no instructions - none are needed. Its like saying that you take off points when reviewing a pair of shoes because they didn't come with instructions. If you're intelligent enough to figure out how to fly and control a drone, you don't need instructions to install these. It took less than 10 minutes for all 4. And YES, the installation screws are a different size but they included all tools required for installation. The ease of removing the guards is invaluable to ensuring portability. You can have the props and guards on or off in under one minute. And finally, I did not perceive any performance degradation or flight characteristic changes.

I've been using the standard DJI guards for a few weeks but due to an upcoming trip and the purchase of a Seahorse hard case I wanted a more portable and convertible option. That's why I chose these--the draw of quick release. Compared to the DJI guards, right away I can feel the difference as the DJI guards feel more firm and strong. A little, these feel like the plastic molds that sometimes come with toys that you need to twist the parts out of. Don't get me wrong, they're not BAD and don't feel flimsy but they are not too far past what I would consider flimsy. In terms of installation, it's straightforward and went quickly (10 min for all 4). There are no instructions included which is a lazy way to lose points in my mind. Fortunately, I had already installed the others from DJI so I had a sense of what I was doing. The other area where I'll knock points off is the use of screws with a non-standard hex size. The phantom uses all size 2 hex screws. Guess what this uses? 2.5!!?? I'm assuming this is just another sign of a lazy designer but c'mon. Ship with standard screws so that we don't' have to carry more tools than necessary out on the field. If the weather's good tomorrow I'll try to take these for a flight and see how they perform. My guess after handling them a little is that they will be perfect until......a hard landing or a bump. That will make these difficult to really test out depending on your flight skills/habits. I'll let you know. Update: I had a hard landing due to wind and actually shot under my SUV. My PV+ stayed upright but scared me as I saw it go under. The damage was minor as only one prop got broken. I was pleasantly surprised that the guards did NOT break, though, so that's good. I don't blame them for the prop breaking since the contact was from above on the undercarriage of the car. I'm not changing my star rating since the screw size and flimsy feel are negatives but I will say that these survived a pretty decent crash and didn't break.

Phantom3本体と同時に注文し、初フライト前に取り付けました。 Phantom3用と2用のネジが付属しています。 2用のネジだと長すぎるというのはネット情報で知っておりましたので、 3用が同梱されてなければホームセンターで買ってこようと思ってましたが、杞憂に終わりました。 無事に取付もでき、初フライトでも問題ありませんでした。 色が前後で異なるため、視認性に優れます。 以下追記：釣り好きおやじさんの質問に対する追記です。 取付の確実性ですが、意図的に外そうとしなければ外れないと思います。 写真はわかりやすいように敢えて白のベースに赤のガードを差し込んでいますが、 大きい爪がガッチリはまっているので、普通に引っ張っただけでは取れそうにないです。 もちろん墜落等の衝撃で爪が折れるとか、経年劣化で爪が弱くなる可能性はありますが・・・ 僕自身は周りに対する安心感からもガードは取り付けるべきだと思ってますが、 これなら簡単に着脱ができるのでお勧めだと思います！

DJI製のガードを使用していましたが、墜落の為に破損しましたのでこちらを購入。 DJI製は真っ白で前後の区別がなかったので、フロントのガードを塗装して使っていました。 DJI製はビス２つ外して装着でしたので、基礎部分の取付にはこちらの製品が手間がいります。（ビス４つ付け替えになるので） 一度基礎部分をつけてしまえば、ガード自体は差し込み式ですので工具なしで簡単に装着できます。 実際にガードが必要な場面にならないと、有効かどうかはわかりませんが 見た感じは大丈夫ではないかと思われます。 またバリはありますが、取り付けの邪魔になるほどでもなく 神経質な人には向かないかもしれませんが、使用に支障はありませんでした。 （紐を通す穴のバリは、邪魔でしたので少しバリ取りをしましたが） バリの多さの分、星ひとつ減らしてますが大変気に入っています。

機能としては十分で、簡単に取り外せて便利ですが、アーム先端が厚く大きくなるため純正のケースに入りません。 リュックだけでなく、アルミケースでも緩衝材をカットしないとダメです。 特にリュックの場合は余裕が無く、他のパーツとの間隔がわずかしかとれません。 結局オークションでかぶせ式の取付パーツを入手、純正ガードの組み合わせで使っています。

取付、取外しが簡単で、とても良い商品だと思います。 純正品は、取付取外しが面倒で結局購入しても取り付けないことが多いと思いますが、この商品は違います。 また、他に安い類似品がありますが、この商品は多少値段が高いですが作りがしっかりしています。 ワンタッチでの取付取外しなので、万が一の事故防止にも役に立ち、とても良い商品です。
