love this series
I have no love for Lorenzo or Marie. Their relationship is toxic and codependent. They are two very selfish people who don’t care who they hurt to get what they want. They both use people’s love for them to manipulate them. They both feel that they are entitled to what other’s have because of what they went through growing up. They are both incapable of real love because they can’t see beyond their wants. They both destroy everything they touch.I thought it very clever how Ms Mynx gave Marie the test, like Solomon in the Bible. Carlo asked her if she would choose her baby over Lo and she basically said no, despite the fact that Lo had a bounty on his head and is the cause of all of her suffering. If Lorenzo was any kind of man, he would have turned himself over, so his wife and baby could be free. But no. He is selfish, and power hungry. Lorenzo and Marietta just keep making bad decisions, and I am not mad at Gio for punishing them. Marie’s should be glad all she lost was her uterus after she almost killed Gio.I never liked Catalina, but I really felt for her. I think Armando was a rebound. She was reeling from Domi breaking up with her, Gio hating her, then almost dying, Lo’s betrayal, committing murder, causing her Uncle’s death, and Mira turning her away. She turned to Armando the way an abused animal turns to someone that shows them affection. She was sad, lonely, feeling abandoned, riddled with guilt, and desperate to feel loved. She grew up spoiled and adored by her brothers, and now they hated her. She was just running from her pain into the first pair of open arms.Domi is annoying and pathetic and I sometimes hoped for his death to put him out of his misery. I honestly want better for Catalina.Eve got on my nerves. There was way too much going on, for me to care about an attention seeking 5 yr old. The cousin from VA served no purpose.Once again Giovanni is the man, moving chest pieces and setting up the board to crown himself and his Bella king and queen; while Lorenzo’s impulsive self, is still playing checkers. He is outmaneuvered at every turn. He’s wants to be Gio so bad, but he can’t measure up.I have really enjoyed this series and look forward to the last 2 books.

Great book
First let me start by saying I absolutely loved this book, and part two is even better! This book broke my heart💔 100%. Just watching the deterioration of the brotherhood between Gio and Lo broke me down. Gio was 100% correct when he tells Mira that loving her made him stronger and by Lo loving Marietta made him weaker. There were so many times I thought that had Marietta not influenced Lo that he and Gio could have mended their brotherhood. Marietta was so hungry for power that she wouldn't allow that to happen. She was the worse friend and sister to both Mira and Shea. ( I believe toward the end of the series the writer couldn't stand her). I liked Catalina with Armando. I think Dominic should have been able to move on and find love himself. The scene in the boqiue should have been enough proof that he should moved on.He kept holding on to this imaginary relationship between the two of them. Between this book and part two I don't see it for them. I do however believe he will continue to try. I don't see Catalina ever developing the feelings she had in the past for him. My baby Carlo! Outside of Mira and Gio he is absolutely my favorite character. ******SPOILER***** after reading Carlo and Shea's book I am extremely happy that she had his baby and they were able to get back together! I love Mira! She plays her position 100% Gio is her everything. She keeps him together Mira's like "don't come for me and mine" when she says to Catalina "I'm not keeping any secrets from my husband" when she tells her "this is a warning" I was clutching my pearls. Like Yesss Mirabella you better do that👏👏👏👏👏👏👏! Yes she's a cryer but she's the strongest character in this book. She carries the entire family and all of Gio's secrets not to mention she's the mother of four children and owns a major fashion house. She's business woman. When Gio was down she proved how strong and resilent she is. After reading book one to book nine I've realized this entire series is about her and I love it!

A little disappointed
I am disappointed in the ending of this book. I do not like that Adara is pregnant with Carlo's baby while poor Shea is in the States (Texas) even though she came looking for Carlo, she was turned away by that devious Umberto. I have a feeling that it will be found out what he did and all the other devilish things he has been doing (he would turn over and murder Lorenzo and Carlo just for power under Gio which shows what kind of mind set he has)! Gio is out of control and on his usual power trip along with dim-witted Mirabella. She shows strength but whenever he says something, she gives in to him too easily and that bothers me a lot. They were my power couple and I love the connection and romance between them until the last book (Bella Mafia) when she showed her ugly and power hungry side. I understand that she was angry because Gio was suffering in his coma but her treatment of her bio family (to me) was unacceptable. Gio took over again after waking from his coma which it should be but in this book, he is totally out of control. I tried to rationalize his feelings and I truly hope that he and Gio will be able to come together soon without death and violence and just stay estranged from each other. My most unhappy feeling about this book is taking Marietta's baby from her and keeping it for themselves. That is also unacceptable! They already have three kids and Mirabella is pregnant again and Marietta's baby is the only one she had. How dare they! The laws in their country and the way that those guys keep getting away with mess would not work in the USA! Anyway, sorry for my rant! I am now reading Omerta Part 2 and I hope for a better ending.
