It’s a good product, well designed and made.I weighed the burger ingredients into this mould that contained a disc of grease proof paper, pushed down the press to form each burger then pushed up the base to extract the contents.All worked very well. The stack of burgers looked very professional.I got the burger recipe from a well know search engine. It contained minced beef, chopped onion, chopped garlic, shredded sun dried tomatoes in oil, tomato ketchup, Tabasco sauce and Worcester sauce.I served the burgers in baps when some friends visited. Having not made burgers before I purchased some from a supermarket and made some myself, not knowing if mine would work out.As it turned of the home made ones using this press were a big hit, they put the mass produced ones to shame! Everyone was impressed, including me who was surprised they were so quick and easy. Looked and tasted good too.

Great - does what is says on the box
Really pleased with this - at last we have burger-shaped burgers that don't fall apart on the griddle. The open/close thing is simply to indicate which direction to turn the middle when pulling the two sections apart. There are three tiny lugs that lock the inner and outer in place and the inner needs to be turned a fraction when pulling it out from the outer ring. Overall, this press is very good value, is easy to use and clean and will get a lot of use.

Great and compact burger press.
We recently organised a large summer barbeque for my Son's Christening. This involved buying enough minced beef to feed an army - around 10kg in total. This was because I wanted to make the effort to make handmade burgers for everyone. Whether or not I'd choose to do it again in that scale is questionable!10kg of beef makes approximately 80 quarter pounders. That meant I was going to need as many aids as possible for this job. I previously had a burger press. One of those metal stamp-looking ones. It was ok, but I'd lost it and wanted something more efficient anyway. This style of press seemed to come up a lot. There were multiple that looked the same, but this had good reviews and the branding seemed clean.I set up a system, weighing out quarter pound rounds of ground beef from the butcher, I didn't want any fillers or binders. Just some salt and pepper mixed in. Once I had these rounds it was time for this press to earn it's money. The recommendation is you add a little oil to the press each time. This is quite time intensive on it's own, so I used a spray olive oil. You then place the ground beef in the press. Put on the lid and push down with a twist motion to make sure it's pressed in there. Once you've done this you just pull out the press and then lift the shaped burger out via the bottom that separates from the base. If you've done it right you should get a certain degree of "ridging" on the burgers.All that's left is to place the burger onto the supplied wax papers and move onto the next one. 79 to go!It took a long time. Hours in fact. But it gave a sense of accomplishment, and the guests really enjoyed the effort, and the taste of a proper homemade burger.The press stood up well. It's built well. Sturdy and robust. The wax papers are a welcome addition albeit a little small. I prefer the squares. It comes with a handy little pouch to store it all away with. I think it's a good buy to be honest. It got me through a long job and certainly made it a lot quicker than doing by hand, or even with my old press. Once you get into the routine you can get them out pretty quickly.The only real issue I had was the fat that you get with burger mince (you want 15-20% fat for better flavour) after a few burgers you'd get the white deposit binding to the press and the base. I suppose this isn't really avoidable, but considering the material is supposed to be non-stick AND I used a spray of oil each time to help I was a little surprised how quickly this built up. At the end it was a pretty hefty and off-putting collection of fat. It does wash off, but I'm surprised it didn't stay within the burgers themselves.Other than that I'm happy with this press. Good value for money. Will last for years to come (if I don't lose it like the other one!) and it got me through a really arduous task at the Christening. Next time I'll order 80 takeout burgers though!

Love my home made burgers
This is such a simple but great burger maker. The ability to make burgers how you want them is great. I find pork burgers are the best. Easy to use and easy to clean

Great burger press - Really easy to use and easy to clean. Brilliant video, it is hilarious
The media could not be loaded. You can put anything and everything inside your burgers!My favourite recipe for a stuffed burger is made with diced onions, jalapenos, and cheddar cheese. I prepped all the ingredients and then made my first patty with the burger press.1. Throw in the mince for bottom part of burger (after a couple tries I figured out the perfect amount)2. Press down then remove the inner mold to create a normal sized burger with an indent in it3. Place a good amount of scrummy ingredients into the crater4. Starting from the outside, fill in the rest of the top with more ground mince5. Using the flat mold press down on patty to seal the fillings in the pattyMy friends loved them!!! Highly recommended!

Good but not a miracle
I chose this because it’s dishwasherable so big marks for cleaning!I’ve had to start making my own burgers because of my brothers food intolerances and I can also this for my own personal preference of thin burgers. I’ve been doing them by hand but thought a press would make them more compact and sturdy to cook.Firstly.. the close/open thing made no sense as there aren’t any grooves for close open? And as a press surely thickness is personal so no close/open is needed? Secondly the burger mix did not come off easily until we started spreading the press with oil. My burger mix is 15% fat mince, an egg, bone marrow and salt and pepper so it’s hardly dry...The press did compress the burgers tighter than doing it in a cookie cutter by hand but it feels like a brilliant invention that’s flawed either by science or not enough guidance from the manufacturer
