Great DIYer multimeter
The Craftsman digital multimeter has been a reliable tool for several projects I have been working on. Readings are quick and consistent, and the display is easy to read. It covers all the common functions needed for troubleshooting electrical issues, from voltage and resistance to continuity checks. The controls are intuitive, so there’s no fumbling around when switching modes. It feels well put together and has handled regular use without any issues. The included leads are decent quality and make solid contact during testing. For DIYers and anyone who needs a dependable multimeter without spending a fortune, this one delivers dependable performance and earns a full five stars. For the price, this one is hard to beat.

Well made "consumable" multimeter
My first multimeter was a Craftsman, similar to this model. It was much larger (much larger) with the same type of red rubber protection. I had bought it about 17 years ago right when I was going to college to get my electrical engineering degree. Unfortunately, I had used it to test some a HID ballast and totally forgot those things would go well over 200V and fried the Craftsman. I then bought a very nice Craftsman clamp Ammeter digital multimeter (looks like a lobster claw) that read DC and AC amps, which has been extremely helpful when checking charge currents on cars where I can just clamp it over the positive cable. Anyhow, I bought a bunch of inexpensive multimeters at Harbor Freight that I consider "consumable" testers. This Craftsman came up on sale at Amazon and I couldn't pass it up. The multimeter is small, but extremely thick. The rubberized jacket is very stiff and hard to remove. It takes a 9V battery that is NOT included. Other than that, it works fine as a multimeter. It isn't a fancy Fluke model and doesn't have a clamp ammeter, but it is a very nice consumable multimeter. Overall: 5/5 stars

It is a good unit. Accuracy of selling points is critical.
The unit works well. The decision making point that determined whether or not to purchase the unit was the fact that in the specs it stated that the it required two AA batteries to power it. Thay was exactly what I was looking for. When I received my unit it required a 9V battery. I was a bit disappointed after I found out that this unit required a 9V battery to operate it. A case of misleading advertising. (????)

Great meter.
These are a great meter for the price. I think I own 3 or 4 of them so I have one in the truck, RV, the house, etc., some for more than 10 years. Just purchased this one for my son, who needed a decent test meter for fleet maintenance at a fire dept. Yes, they won't do everything a Fluke will, but they aren't $100 to $200 either. My only complaint would be the display window. Don't spill brake clean or other harsh chemicals on it, or it turns foggy. Otherwise, great meter.

Helped me fix my dryer
I like to repair things myself after watching videos online. My dryer went out and I figured I could tackle that too, but there are so many thermostats I didn't want to spend money to replace them all. I bought this little gadget to test the continuity of the ones on the machine to diagnose which one was broken. It worked perfectly to tell me which part needed to be replaced and I got my dryer fixed on my own. I will have to figure out how to use all the settings, but know this will come in handy when I need to diagnose something else.

Good Value
I am a retired journeyman electrician. This multimeter is good value for the money. The read out is steady, the dial has a very positive click, and the rubber guard lets it sustain moderate knocks with no problem. The leads are strong and the tips are covered until you need them, for safety There are a lot more finely tuned meters on the market, and more accurate, but not for less than $20, and many in this price range need to be treated more kindly than they will be on a construction site, where tools must be rugged. Certainly for most electricians or household uses it will be fine. If you are dealing with electronics I would recommend a Fluke meter at likely ten times the price, and not as rugged.

Multimeter is a delight.
This small meter assisted me in the needed troubleshooting of my old dryer by accurately giving resistance reading to find the faulty components. As a retired electronics technician from the U.S. Navy it is always good to have the right equipment, my old manual meter from Radio Shack was a gem however it got corroded and stop working, the internal circuit board got corrosion on the solder points inside. Do not leave something like that in the outside shed. Keep it indoors!!!!!
