Okuma ROX Standard Speed Spinning Reel

I bought 2 of these and they both failed in different aspects, at some point over the past few days, gears got stuck, anti reverse stop working, 1 of the reels anti reverse never worked to begin with. The only reason i gave this 2 stars, is because despite the failures, i still caught with them.

I use it for small trout in New Jersey. Works fine for that. Don't know how it would hold up on bigger fish.

Not a bad reel. I bought the size 20 for trout and panfish, but it is definitely a fair bit larger than my size 20 Pfleuger’s and quantum micro lites. Can’t attest to durability as I have only taken it out a few times, but seems smooth enough for throwing crappie float/jig combos using 6# test, which has been the target species of this set up. Gave it 4 stars for the low bearing count, but for the price I can’t complain too much.

the reel arrived non functional. anti-reverse did not work at all brand new out of the package, upon disassembly realized that the whole part was missing, a Manufacturer defect. I won't buy from Okuma again with that level of quality control.

So far so good. I have used it many times too fish brackish water and it hasn't failed me yet. I use 30lb braid and so far this reel and the braid haven't been challenged yet. I've caught stingrays, sail-cats, spotted trout, red fish, ladyfish etc. with no issues. I do make sure to wash it off with fresh water when I get back from fishing to make sure any parts that can corrode from the brackish water gets a good washing off. The drag is also nice and loud, which is a bonus.

Cheap real. Only Okuma I have that I don’t like. And I use the cheap okuma models.

Great for the price. Saw this reel at Wal-Mart for more a week after I got it.

This reel feels a lot better than my shimano reel that cost twice the price. I use this on my 6'0 trout setup with 10lb braid + 10lb flouro leader, and it casts smooth, and lets me have greater control when fishing smaller creeks and rivers. Would recommend to anyone looking for a lightweight reel at a great price.

For what’s its worth if you’re any kind of avid fishermen just buy a half decent name brandIt’s okay but for another couple dollars get a recognized brand and you’ll be better off

Very happy. Light enough for my telescoping rod. Build quality excellent for price. I'm using it for fishing whitefish and trout in the mountain streams of kananas country. No issues with the reel what so ever.
