P3D4-12 Punch P3 DVC 4-Ohm 12-Inch 600-Watt RMS 1200-Watt Peak Subwoofer

This is HANDS DOWN the BEST sub for the price. It sounds like 2 12inch of any other, non competition brand sub. Hits HARD!!! I debated for a long time between this and the Pioneer Champion Pro, but went with this because of the rubber surround and MAN am I glad that I did. I listen to a lot of Hip Hop / Rap and this thing sounds soooooooooo clean. Its missing a tiny bit of the low low end bass, but that is just because it is not a 15 and has nothing to do with the quality of the sub. Paired this with the Rockford Fosgate Prime 500.1D Amp that came with a birth sheet of 632RMS. Tuned it with a multimeter for optimum sound quality. My only WARNING about this sub is MAKE SURE YOU BREAK IT IN ON LOW LOW LOW VOLUME FOR ABOUT 2 - 3 WEEKS, NOT DAYS, BEFORE YOU START SLAMMING IT OR IT WILL BREAK AND YOU WILL BE PISSED!!!!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!! The spider on these subs is SUPER stiff and if you slam it too hard before it has a chance to stretch IT WILL TEAR THE SPIDER AND YOU WILL HATE YOURSELF FOR HAVING TO BUY ANOTHER ONE IN A MONTH. I took the time to break it in and it sounds EPIC after about 3 weeks. Sub will start out kind of quiet and the bass will not hit very hard, THAT IS NORMAL!!! Don't just turn it up trying to get more bass right out of the box. I have not heard this sub in a sealed box, as I don't listen to a lot of Dubstep or Rock, but if you put it in one I'm sure you COULD crack your rear windshield with it, heads up Metal Heads! I bought a Sound Ordinance Sound Bunker v175 ported box because it was the best match for the required cubic measurements that I could find online. I also recommend that box if you can't have a better one made, but its the best 5/8 MDF box you can buy. If you want CRAZY bass, buy 2 of these and a ported box plus a good 1200w RMS amp (I recommend the RF Prime for cheap, Alpine for mid priced and RF Punch for anyone who can afford $500 for an amp, mono block class D of course) Hope this helps people on the fence, don't debate anymore unless you are looking at crazy $500 competition subs, this is the one you want.

Since this was my first time purchasing a subwoofer for my car, I spent a lot of time searching the internet for a solid performing, well rounded subwoofer. This not only fit the bill, but also didn't break the bank. Pros: - Very solid feel, well built - Can take a lot of power, I feel 600 watts is almost underrating this speaker - Hits hard and fast, given the proper enclosure and power - Cheap price, I had bought mine around $110, which is dirt cheap for the performance - The combination of the aluminium cone and trim ring look sweet - The rubber surround feels very well made - Relatively light for a 12 inch subwoofer - Seems like it can handle a good deal of abuse Cons: - This subwoofer is only rated for 600 watts, do not expect pieces of your car to fall off or to set off car alarms - The response cure isn't the greatest, but for what your spending you shouldn't expect the response of a $500 subwoofer I have owned this subwoofer for around a year and a half now. I purchased a second one around a year ago after the great performance I got out of the first one. I run both of them off of a T1000-bdCP and they hit very hard, while maintaining a good amount of quality. All in all, I would consider this subwoofer one of the best purchases for this price point. The sound quality is great for the price, if your looking for loud punchy bass this will deliver, and if your looking for even more bass just buy two (which is still only around $240).

Quality sound and budget friendly

Wow!. I ordered this sub to put in my acura with the stock head unit and the stock amplifier and speakers. I built the bass reflex enclosure up to Rockford Fosgates paremters. I also chose the Rockford Fosgate R500-1d to power it......HOLY CRAP! this thing makes the cieling of my car flex! This sub is perfect, i mean it hits like a 15, but dosent need 1500 watts of power to add a big punch to your stereo. The sound quality is unsurpassed. I listen to Weezer and turn the bass down on the head unit, to get a nice punchy tight bass. I am literally able to hear every beat of the bass drum and every note played by the bassist, its very clean and accurate. The bass reproduction on hip hop songs is also impressive. As i said earlier this subwoofer makes my whole car shake, door, trunk, everything. With the port tuned to around 38 hz maybe 40, this thing hits super low, i mean really low, and really loud at the same time. I was really surprised that it would reproduce the low frequenicies as loud as the higher ones. With the correct enclosure this subwoofer will outperform any other sub within the price range. Rockford Fosgate makes the best products on the market, in terms of quality and price. Buy this and it will bring you years of bass satisfaction. Btw, the people that wrote comments saying that it blew and what not with the recomened 600 watts, they iether 1.) got a defective product that broke 2.) dont know how to wire a dvc sub to the correct resistance output so blew it or 3.) worked the sub out of its rms power rating and blew it This subwoofer is built like tank, nuff said.

Great subwoofer. Rockford Fosgate is the only brand of subwoofer that I will own because they are a quality product at a reasonable price. I recently sold a set of 12" P-3s (last generation) because of I needed more trunk space in my new car. I had my old P-3s in a ported box and they sounded great. I traded these in for one new P-3 and build a sealed box at 1 cubic foot (as per the RF specifications). Let me just say, this single subwoofer in a sealed box hits about as hard as my old pair of subs did. Also, I think that the sound quality is slightly better in the sealed box. I have it hooked up to a 1700 watt Kenwood mono amplifier and it can handle as much power as my alternator/battery can provide. I mostly listen to country and rock and will say that it is a great match for these genres. Also, it hits the lows well for hip hop / rap. Basically, this sounds great with any music. Also, as a bonus, this subwoofer looks great. RF hit it out of the park with this one. This is a great subwoofer and I highly recommend it! Also, I want to add that most RF subwoofers require larger enclosures than most other brands. When buying/building a box, double check to make sure that it is close to RF recommendations.

Bought this sub last summer, it's surely bumps. Product is clear and you're going to get what you paid for. But! be aware if something happens you have to go through Rockford Fosgate directly, as the Amazon seller doesn't help with any returns, warranty, etc. If you don't want to go through the hassle if something breaks on sub, I'd go somewhere else. But, if you want to bite the bullet be prepared to deal with the process of returning the subwoofer. Personally, I would not buy again from Amazon although you do get a great subwoofer. Just be aware.

This subwoofer is not for the feint of heart!!! It is a beast of a 12 and continues to impress me every day. I don't regret my purchase whatsoever and I'd buy another one if this one EVER blows out. It arrived early, came well packaged, felt high-grade to the touch, and just looked fabulous. I have over a year of experience in subwoofers and I've heard plenty of setups in my hunt for the right subwoofer. I've heard 2 12" Skars ported, 2 10" Fosgates in a bandpass, a Cerwin Vega 15", and many more impressive setups. However, none sounded as clean AND heavy as the P3D4. I highly recommend this sub to anyone looking for great value and even better bass. This sub could easily withstand SPL applications as well. I push 630w RMS and it plays like a champ with little to no distortion. I drive a 99 ranger XLT. I bought and paired this P3D4-12 with the RF Prime RX-500d amp and have the sub sitting in a 28hz 2cuft ported box at 2ohm. UPDATE 3/29/2022 If you're worried about the longevity of this sub, let me put your worries to rest. I still have the same exact box, sub, and amp from 2020 and they have yet to fail me once. I have never had a problem with them and they continue to impress me today. I've listened to just about everything there is too: rap, country, metal, raggaeton, banda, dubstep. This sub is so versatile that it adds that extra bass and kick to whatever you're listening to. As a daily driver, I couldn't live without it. I would, however, recommend the mesh cover to protect the sub. The cone has a few small dents from me not cleaning off any dust and rocks from work, but that's my own fault. Otherwise, it would still be in perfect condition.
