Perfect for avionics use
Using this on my Cessna 172 GA airplane and iPad 10th Generation, which doesn't have GPS built in.Setup was super easy (like connecting Bluetooth headphones, just pair, connect and off you go) with super clear instructions available, minimal footprint in the cockpit, and a sturdy build quality makes it able to withstand moderate turbulence. Battery life is more than sufficient, and the fact that it can be used while plugged in to the 12V cigarette lighter socket makes it ideal for even longer trips (although I'm generally limited to 4-5 hours due to fuel consumption on my C172). Good to know I can just refuel and takeoff again without waiting an hour for it to charge.Appearance wise, it blends in very well with the black interior of my airplane, not standing out too much when placed on the dashboard.I have now attached it to my iPad mount as it was moving around too much during turns, and since I'm sometimes renting planes when out and about, I wanted the flexibility. Overalls, a very worthwhile purchase.

Plug and play - just works!
Next day delivery, smaller and neater than I expected. Bluetooth connected immediately and a few minutes for a GPS fix and that was all there was to it! Hint Make sure the box on application for using an external GPS is ticked. Battery can stay on charge in iPad and Garmin GPS by wired connections whilst two communicate by Bluetooth, a useful capability as real time mapping applications are heavy on battery power.

Greater accuracy gps via Bluetooth On IPAD Laptop or mobile phone.
Very easy to use just connect via Bluetooth open mapping and will show your location to within 2 to 5 metres depending on number of satellites available. Rechargeable from usb charger , lasts for about 16 hrs. The communication rate is higher than the gps installed on phones and iPads . You will be able to see your movement even at walking pace and in a vehicle you can see smooth movement as you travel. Great piece of equipment which i use with my iPad that does not have built in gps. Also use with my iPhone which has its own gps but this gives more accurate location. The unit is very small and light and cave placed on dashboard or in pocket if walking.

Great but needs native android support.
Works great but with no native android support you have to rely on third party apps that have a habit of either disconnecting or not reconnecting when you move your device out of Bluetooth range. Apart from that it's great.

Great unit for where there is poor or no telephone signal
The Garmin is a great unit. I am a photojournalist and plan all my trips around the world with pins on Maps.me. Many places I go to have poor or no telephone reception, including the North Yorks Moors where I live. This makes using phone GPS useless. I use Glo with an iPad and iPhone. It was very easy to set up and accuracy is amazing. The lights on the unit don't do quite what the instructions say, so don't panic if you get flashing lights that say there is a system error when using the USB charging lead as it seems to be ok. Thanks to Amazon for answering my question about its compatibility with Maps.me so quickly, it has solved a big problem for me as my iPad is the no SIM version. 5 stars to everyone.

Highly recommended for professional pilots.
Amazing device. Reliable and works on commercial aircrafts even when on board gps receivers are jamed in certain areas. You just need to recycle it by switching it off and on few times.

Not compatible with OS mapping
Having researched and read a few reviews saying that people had used this with OS mapping, I decided to go for it as wanted to use it with my premium OS maps subscription on my iPhone and iPad to locate where I was and to navigate when hiking in the mountains. As neither has a built in GPS receiver this would have done the job.I got it to connect via Bluetooth easily enough but OS maps could not detect it and therefore couldn’t show my location….it worked with google maps but not Ordnance survey. Google maps is no use for hiking, so I have returned it.I can see it is a great piece of kit used in conjunction with the right mapping app. I spoke to OS maps who were pretty clueless as to what I was on about and couldn’t help at all.

Excellent with 4th Gen wifi ipad + Navionics
Immediately, easily connected to old ipad (4th gen 32bit wifi only). Navionics app picked up the gps signal and immediately showed yacht location on the chart in the exact, correct berth - so seems accurate to a few metres which is more than enough. (Mind you, so did my Galaxy S8 using Imray chart - good to have confirmation/a back up).Spent two days delivering yacht. Worked like a dream the whole time. Only slight reservation is that you don't know how much charge is left. So put it on charge a couple of times for probably an hour or so, just in case. Didn't run out either day (12 hours and 6 hours). Now I trust it, I would probably just turn it on when needed and DR nav knowing I had backup...
