This is now my second CarLock device and it does exactly what I expect and with no fuss. If you're looking for affordable, easy to manage vehicle security then this is really one of the top devices on the market. Not to mention the fantastic customer support as always... I bought my first CarLock device exactly 5 years ago today! After buying a hot hatch I was looking for a bit more peace of mind and have had no issues with it ever. That was the OBD2 version, which I have hidden away under the dash. Last month after taking on an additional vehicle following an increase in business miles I looked no further than CarLock, since the OBD2 location on my new vehicle isn't best placed I oped for the hardwired version which you connect over the battery. Sure this might not be as discreet as the OBD version that you can hide away inside the vehicle but depending on your situation the hardwire version is just as good and offers the same features. All that was needed was a small spanner to loose the bolts and connect it to the corresponding terminals on the battery. Set up is easy, firstly I connected the device over the battery and went inside and opened my CarLock app which was already set up in my case. It's easy to download from both the major app stores and a simple guide is shown to get to know how to use the app a little. I went to add a device and all you need is the small card that comes in the packaging with the activation code and serial number. Of course monthly payments are required by credit card or PayPal, I just went with PayPal since my existing device already uses that for payment. First month of use is included, so no additional charge to set it up until the subscription starts the next month. It's handy to know the location of the vehicle and the device will also alert you to vibration alerts, and if the vehicle has moved, device disconnected, the list goes on. Notifications are instant and usually a closing of a door on the vehicle triggers a vibration alert. Actually my favorite feature is for tracking business mileage, and at the end of the day/week I normally go through and review my journeys on the app and flick it from a personal journey to a business journey. It makes fuel claims easier at the end of the month when you can export your trips from my.carlock.co on a computer to an Excel document. Usually for monitoring, I have it automatically turn off monitoring through the day and otherwise turned on at night and weekends, this just saves having to open the app to turn it on/off if you're going for a drive. The vibration sensor is fairly sensitive and accurate, however I believe an extra Bluetooth device can be paired with the tracker that offers better sensitivity. Overall these devices are excellent, if you're worried about signal loss/GPS inaccuracy, fear not. I've never had an issue of disconnection alerts or incorrect journey details and I frequently travel through dead zones and through very rural parts of Scotland. There are 3 subscriptions available, standard being £6.95 which is the one I go for, a cheaper basic for £5.90 and a standard+ for £8.95 which gives a quicker GPS update time and longer storage of driving history reports. You'll probably find it difficult to find a cheaper one that offers the same feature with the good experience. As always their customer services have always been prompt and excellent help should you need to contact them. Coming from my 5 years experience I really have had no faults with their service ever, it just works!

I bought the special bundle with the unit that is connected to the vehicle battery, the tag and a vibration sensor. The installation was very easy. I installed the vibration sensor near the driver's door in my camper van and it picks everything up perfectly - even people closing their car doors near the vehicle! I don't think you will need more than one sensor unless you have a large vehicle like a LWB Sprinter / Transit or motorhome. The keyfob tag is handy as it activates or deactivates the security system automatically depending on your distance from the vehicle so you don't need to worry about setting or disarming the system. The app is very easy to use and setup and gives detailed information on journeys and driving style (the info you get is dependant on the subscription you choose) all in all, I'm very happy with Carlock - the only improvement I would suggest is a valet mode for the tag, for when you are working on the vehicle or loading and unloading. It's annoying getting constant alerts when you are in close proximity to the vehicle and there is no way to turn the system off completely for those occasions.

This is a simple but brilliant bit of kit. Installation takes 5 mins, once up and running download the app, follow the instructions and away you go. For me, this in a brilliant bit of additional security that adds piece of mind that your car is safe and untampered with. Vibration alerts, movement alerts, real time tracking plus more. I'll be looking to purchase another to put in my other car. Highly recommend.

Easy to install, has a small backup battery included in the device although it doesn’t state this - maybe enough for 1-2 days from fully charged. It’s more accurate and cheaper than the factory Mercedes system, and seems to have a small draw on the battery. The app is also good. My only gripe is that I did not discover until after buying as installing that the device runs on 2G?? So is not future proof and I have no clue how long it will last. Also if the car was stolen or in Europe, it would not be traceable at all as some countries have already switched off 2G. It would have been good for it to state this clearly so I could have made a better decision. Still, other than that it’s great, I just hope they bring out a 4g version at some point.

Dopo qualche giorno di utilizzo e confermo che funziona bene e al giusto prezzo, a questo però è necessario fare un abbonamento mensile (io ho fatto il base che a me basta in quanto non mi servono dati aggiuntivi) che costa Euro 6,90 al mese. L’installazione è stata molto semplice, ho impiegato meno di 5 minuti, va collegato alla batteria + e -, attaccandolo con il biadesivo già fornito alla batteria. La posizione viene rilevata in modo corretto. Ho fatto prove a lasciarlo inserito durante la marcia e uscito dal perimetro che viene impostato in automatico, lancia un allarme sonoro. Lasciandolo attivato mentre si chiude lo sportello, rileva una vibrazione e lancia un messaggio sms, durante la marcia rileva accelerazione o frenate brusche. Per l’attivazione e disattivazione ci sono alcune opzioni da poter utilizzare: 1)effettuarlo dall’app che è semplice ed intuitiva ma scomodo perché può capitare di dimenticarsi nell’uno o nell’altro caso 2)acquisto dello smart tag (grande quanto un airtag) e non necessita di collegamenti, va lasciato dentro all’auto, rileva l’allontanamento o l’avvicinamento per l’attivazione/disattivazione del monitoraggio. Lo smart tag funziona solo con ios e ad oggi non è disponibile 3)utilizzo del Time Lock (funzione all’interno dell’app), abilita automaticamente le funzioni 5 minuti dopo che il motore è spento 4)utilizzo di Scheduler (funzione all’interno dell’app) permette di specificare le ore di ogni giorno della settimana, nelle quali si vuole attivare o disattivare la funzione di protezione 5)utilizzo delle funzioni disponibili su iPhone e Watch.

Fiabilité et précision, offre une localisation très précise, ce qui me permet de savoir exactement où se trouve mon véhicule à tout moment. Facilité d’utilisation L’installation a été un jeu d’enfant, même pour quelqu’un qui n’est pas très à l’aise avec la technologie. L’application associée est intuitive et conviviale. C’est un excellent outil pour la sécurité de mon véhicule. Je peux partir en voyage l’esprit tranquille. Un excellent investissement pour protéger son véhicule à un coût très raisonnable. Les fonctionnalités proposées sont bien supérieures à ce que j’attendais pour ce prix. J’adore la fonctionnalité de géorepérage, qui m’alerte si le véhicule sort d’une zone prédéfinie. Le suivi en temps réel est vraiment impressionnant et très utile.
