Spooled lead is a quick, convenient way to add weight to fly patterns. Lead can be wrapped around the hook shank, secured with thread and coated with SuperLaq to add weight on any fly pattern. A small amount of lead can be added behind a bead head to help keep it in place. Smaller diameter lead allows small patterns to be weighted without creating unnecessary bulk.
