Florida State Parks

So Much to See..:
New Florida resident and bought his as a general guide based on other reviews. It seems to give a solid take on most. Two small issues: A) having gone to 3-4 parks so far, they do embellish the “awesome” slightly. They definitely don’t think any of these parks suck, but we all know that all are not created equal- a bit of honesty would be better received here. Good rule of thumb: the longer the word count, the more awesome it actually is. B) color pictures would have been worth the extra money. Such good content and the B&W photos do not compliment well. Still, much better than trying to Google search each park. We keep this in the car and since it’s organized by region (super smart), it’s a great quick-reference guide.

Lots of info
A ton of info packed into this book. Not up to date. Some parks are no longer there or have name changes. New parks not listed, but still worth the purchase. Like I said it has a ton of info about the parks. I just make my notes and flag different places that I enjoyed the most.

Better than what you can get from the state
As noted by other reviewers, this book could really do with an update. A few new parks are not included and some parks have changed names. HOWEVER, given the difficulty of getting information from the state, this book is well worth the money. While there is good information about each parks on the state's website, I have not found it useful in trying to figure out which parks are in a general area. So, again, if you are wondering what parks are available in a particular area and, especially, which of them are worth learning more about, this is a really good starting place.

A MUST HAVE FOR FLORIDA SPRINGS TRAVELS
I bought this book as my husband and I are recent owners of an RV and we’ve been visiting a lot of the springs here in Florida since Covid keeps us from going anywhere else! I found this book to be very enlightening and a good source of information for locations etc. I only wish that the photographs were in color!

Best Book to Explore "The Real Florida"!
This book is our favorite guide to exploring Florida's natural wonders, and there are many. It gives the most useful information of any I've found. If you would rather see real nature instead of fake (Disney animation) this is the book.We keep it in our RV and plan trips with it.What amazes me is that the author is from Washington state and knows so much about Florida. The only thing that could make it better are two things: color photos and a better map of the parks with an overlay showing both major cities as well as the parks, to give a better sense of where they are located. It would be too crowded to put them all on one map so an overlay would be preferable. I had to use a car map in conjunction with the book map to plan trips, no big deal.Just got back from Manatee Springs and Cedar Key. Florida springs are totally cool (double-ent. intended).

A Great Book to Travel with in Florida!
If you are going to travel in Florida and are a state park enthusiast, then this is a must. I can travel to any part of the state and reference all the parks in the area. It is good to have because if you are in the hinter lands of Florida you might not have cell service to look up parks near you and this is a great resource.

Florida State Parks
I've looked at a lot of books written about our Florida State Parks, especially since acquiring a used 2005 Class C Forest River RV, and out of all of the books I've read, this is by far my favorite. While some people have commented the pics aren't in color, they are beautiful renderings of our state parks in black and white, and more importantly the information contained about each state park is right on. Great book and I am glad I bought it. It will be along for all our rides in our refurbished RV named, "Lucy."

Florida State Parks
Really like the book. We didn't realize there are so many parks in Florida. We plan on visiting several this year. For a lot of the parks, there are no photos and limited information. I don't consider this a problem because of the internet. It's too easy to find out more. The book at least makes us aware of them. Most Florida libraries have this book, but we wanted to own it to take with us when we visit and be able to make notes. Mr. Strutin did a great job compiling all of this info. We will get a lot of use out of it.
