lower band PT button funky and confusing
The quality of construction, and sound quality of the shoulder mic are very good for this type of device, This item falls short in my opinion because Baofeng chose not to install a rocker type PTT switch like on the UV-82, and a few other radios, but rather decided to just mount a small round pushbutton switch on the top of the case for the second band PTT. It is a location that is a bit difficult to find in low light, and is vulnerable to accidental activation. Therefor I only give this mic a 4. Had they opted for a rocker style PTT, and maintained the same quality otherwise, I would have rated it a 5.

Great Quality - Great Price
This unit works great. A good addition to your H.T. Also, customer service is fantastic. I had an issue with a broken lapel clip and was replaced without question within a couple of days. Can't get customer service like that anywhere else in my experience!

ok but not robust enough
I bought this less than 2 years ago to go with my new Baofeng 82C. It worked well, although I found that I really never used the top button. However, I only used it about once a week and only about half of each year. Despite the light use, a few weeks ago I noticed the strain relief was broken at the plug into the radio. Yesterday, something shorted and the radio didn't receive properly until I unplugged it. I'm going to order the more-expensive waterproof version in hopes that its strain relief is more robust (and also because it has an earphone jack, which was my most serious fault with this one). I mostly have A and B set to the same channel anyway, and if I ever do set them differently and need to talk on A, I can pull the radio out of my pocket and use the PTT on it.

Nice little speaker microphone - but weak clip
Purchased this speaker-mic to complement my UV-82. Works great. The only issue I have is remembering to press the top botton to transmit when I'm in dual monitoring mode. A few times folks have called me on channel A and I accidentally keyed and responded on channel B. Oooops! :) I find the speaker-mic most useful when the UV-82 is connected as a base and also on the road as a mobile.Update: 6/21/16 - works great and better quality audio after drilling out the mic hole as others have commented. Reason I'm dropping the score by 2 stars is the rear clip broke off, so for my use I'll need to by another microphone. :( The spring clip IS NOT very durable - you've been warned.

Works great so far
Works great so far. We use them for skiing (Ski Patrol) and have Ham licenses, so the dual band is great. I mount the mic on a backpack shoulder strap - easy to reach and key even with gloves. So far it seems durable and water-resistant. I wouldn't mind if it were a little more compact, with a somewhat larger 2nd button, but no serious complaints, and the price is fine for how much we use it.

Sound Quality I’d Very Poor
Sound quality is weak. Don’t buy this product. I just had an opportunity to test it in the field environment and the sound is weak. Buy a different item or brand. Support also is rather poor as I tried to return the item and apparently missed the window by one day. Terrible support.

This mic does not have the same kind of rocker switches on it as the radio but it will work
I do not like the setup on this mic of the Dual buttons with one on top and one on the side but it seems to work just fine this way and I will definitely not get the buttons mixed up which is a very good thing

It Works
Wanted a mic for the radio but should have known for the $ you get what you pay for. Very cheaply made but it does work, just don't drop it or bang it against something.

The mic works well so far but it doesn't seem to be built for much abuse
