I have used this nifty gadget to remove stickers off a mirror, slash homemade bread before baking, and liberate mailing boxes of their tape shackles. Not necessarily in that order. Cleaning was involved between uses. The retraction function works perfectly, too. I love that it comes with blades. It's the little things.I'm into useful things that aren't expensive. Every house should have a couple of these tools.

I ordered an "American Line" scraper because I had an earlier model, Made in USA, of simpler and arguably perfect design. This item did not specify "Made in USA" but I nevertheless order it. This scraper is made in Asia and it is poorly manufactured: its open/close button is hard to operate, and worse, the blade holder mechanism is poorly designed and it is hard/risky to insert and replace a blade.Why label "American Line" products that are made elsewhere?

Horrible operation! It will not retract unless you press down on the leading edge which is not feasible once the blade is in.

This is a very useful little gadget for removing hard to wash stuff off windows and other flat surfaces. We got extra blades and keep it in that all sorts draw most people have. The retracting mechanism is not as smooth as it was in the beginning so changing blades and closing is not as easy.

Just the job. Tool has sturdy and robust feel to it. Scrapes paint slashes off windows - perfectly! Just make sure to wet the windows first, preferably with warm soapy water, and then scrape in the forward direction only to prevent scratching. It will also come in handy for scraping stubborn bird mess off windows - and no doubt numerous other tasks as well such as oven doors, fish tanks and ceramic hobs!Ergonomic rubber sleeve is comfortable - literally a nice touch. 5 blades should last a while.

After reading one of the other reviews here, I bought this scraper to clean up an oven door glass. Worked a treat. Has also been put to good use cleaning paint and varnish that got on the glass round the window frames.I have found the blades easy enough to change. Unlike the traditional type scrapers that take a Stanley blade, this one can be closed and safely carried in the pocket. Good firm opening and closing mechanism.

I'm a big fan of the regular Personna scraper, and this is the exact same thing with a rubber sleeve fitted over it, for greater comfort in prolonged use, or cold conditions. How durable the rubber sleeve is remains to be seen, but once it bites the dust, you will still have a perfectly serviceable scraper in any case. I've had one of these scrapers for 20 years, and it's still in business!
