Charge It: AccuMate 6/12 ChargeMatic Mini -> Photos <- TecMate TM-84
This automatic battery charger has what it takes to charge your 6 or 12 volt lead-acid battery. The charger kit comes with the Smart Charger-Maintainer with automatic temperature regulation,2 detachable connection sets (battery clips and metal eyelets) and a set of instructions.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Statistics:> Charger Plug Size (H x W x D): 3-3/4" x 2-1/2" x 2-1/4"> Charger/cord Weight: 1.32 lbs.> Charger Cord Length: 11 feet> Clip Connection: 1/2" pole Max.> Eyelet Connection: 1/4" Max.> Input Voltage: 110-120v 50/60Hz.> Battery Voltage: 6v and 12v> Output Current: 900 mA> Conforms to ANSI/UL Std. 1236> 2 Year Limited Warranty (when I purchased it)> Made in China / TecMate North America is located in Ontario Canada.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The charger can take care of and maintain your Standard, GEL or AGM-MF battery with-outovercharging. This works great for vehicles that are seldom used or used seasonally. If youare unfamiliar with battery chargers reading the instruction booklet's 'Precautions' and'Operating Instructions' is vital. The AccuMate Mini charges the battery with a quasi-constant 0.9A current. When a safe limithas been reached it switches into a float charge where it will use a limited voltage to bring itto a full charge and then keep it fully charged when not being actively used. What this meansis that you can keep it safely plugged in and connected to the battery. Also, don't worry about it over heating. There is an auto-resetting fuse that helps protect itfrom burnout. Once the heat level is within a safe level the circuit switches back on. Thismeans you do not have to monitor the AccuMate charger. The time required to charge a battery will depend upon the size and how depleted the batteryhas become. A 10 Ah battery that has been discharged to 50% of its capacity would takeabout 5 hours to fully charge. The battery's health also can affect the charge time. The charger and leads come packed in a rather heavy cardboard container so you can store itafter using it and put it on the shelf for next time. Once I read the instructions, using thischarger was hassle free and without worry. This Accumate 6/12 Mini (TM-84) gets 5 stars as it does what it says and without any problems.I've had the charger for over 2 years now and it is doing well.NOTE: It appears from the Amazon blurb that the warranty has gone up to 3 years.

WARNING: Avoid AccuMate.
I had an older ($50) AccuMate model last for a year and it died without reason. So I took care to watch this one, new out of the box. It failed on day 27 and I wasted days trying to get customer support. This failure was recorded on a monitoring ammeter AND documented (SEE ATTACHED screen shot of positive charging current/wattage and then reversal = faulty discharge). This was sent to Amazon for investigation: Accumate discharged and sulfated my 10 month new car battery (requiring replacement). The AccuMate warranty is worthless, as it is difficult or impossible to contact the Canadian vendor or Belgian manufacturer. Amazon was nice to issue a refund on day 32, based on this history. Avoid AccuMate.

Great charger, works perfectlly
Great charger works perfectly, only issue was the wire connector end were different than the image of item online.I got it as a replacement for a older model which had different connect er end. This really wasn't a problem as I just spliced the new connector to the equipment, which worked perfectly.

Nice Unit but Battery Needed Replacing After Six Months Use.
This is a quality constructed unit. I was suitably impressed with it for the price. That said, I bought it and put it on a two year old battery on a Toyota Tacoma 3.4 for 6 months to keep it tended. I unplugged it for two days once a month just so it would not constantly be at top charge. When the truck was driven after that time on the tender, it lasted for two days, then the battery would not start and tested bad. Could be happenstance since the battery was already two years old, but I think trickle charge or full charge - still tough on the battery cells. Cars are meant to be driven daily. In the future I will just pull the positive and negative cables off the battery and hook it back up when it's time to run again. I think that occasional discharge is probably healthier for the battery than constant charging. If you don't mind disconnecting the terminals, save your money IMHO. YMMV.

Doubles Your Battery Life?
Didn't know you can almost double your motorcycle's battery life by plugging this in AFTER EACH RIDE. My Suzuki mechanic told me, did my research, and bought this. I ride everyday and every time I plug this in, the light's yellow - I couldn't believe it myself. In a nutshell, he said your charge keeps getting lower and lower throughout the years then eventually dies. But, if you keep the charge at the top, it doubles the life and in many cases more than that.Hey, if I can save over a $100+ every three years, I'll spend $30 something to double my battery life. I'm not waiting to find out! No loss for me what-so-ever!

perfection
this is a great product for anyone who owns a vintage motorcycle -- I have it hooked up to my 1965 BMW R60/2 and then with the easy flick of a switch I can throw it on my 2012 R1200GS Rallye and keep that battery charged in the winter. Really fantastic product, have been using it for two years without a single issue.
