Orbit 57101 Sprinkler System 1-Inch FPT Auto Inline Valve NFC

I originally bought this for something it wasn't intended for: Pneumatic cannon, aka potato gun. It doesn't leek, works well, and releases its air fast. I can't review the part of which it is used for a irrigation system, due to the fact that I didm't use it for that purpose. This valve worked as described, and was a good price. Over all, 5/5 stars. Even tho it's not perfect (always room for improvement), it works fine and was a good buy.

I used this on a air cannon. it was able to hold 139 psi. before i had any problems. (rated for 125 psi.) It works with 3 9 vt. batters hooked up to it. and the wires it comes with are more than long enuf and are really good quality. Sometimes i do have to open it and clean it but orbit made that really easy to do.

I needed one of these for replacement parts, it worked perfectly. I was able to take the old solenoid and diaphragm off of the old valve, put on this new one and it worked perfectly. I didn't need to cut or re-pipe anything!

Got this to take the guts out of it to use in one of five valves I bought at HD. One of the five was defective from the getgo so, it doesn't matter where you buy them, they are still cheaply built. I took out the diaphragm and put it in the one with the defective diaphragm and it worked like a champ. This is the bottom end of the valve family. They aren't antisiphon. The working part of the valve is simplicity itself and the only thing that can really go wrong is the diaphragm. I would recommend them if you are on such a tight budget that you can't spend $10 more dollars and get a good one.

The Orbit valves have proven themselves and their electronic Solenoid to be -over time- far superior to other brand valves costing many times more to purchase.The valve's S/S fasteners in ALL of the variety of Orbit valves diaphragm seal are often (when new) needed to be tightened to stop leakage. A simple one minute effort. Still - after almost 20 yeas of use of MANY different brands - it is by far the best overall valve BRAND and value available and my valve of choice for at least the past 5 years.

I am an Irrigation specialist. I bought this valve to be able to replace a faulty valve on a client's property. I did not want to have to cut out the valve and charge him for a complete replacement. I was able to use this valve for parts. I replaced the entire top of the valve by removing the eight screws and replacing just the top. FYI, this valve is a thread in type valve to use two 1" male adapters. I charged my client $140 to do this work,

The valve is quite small sized so it can fit in tighter places. I forgot to measure the pipe size and ordered a 1" instead of 3/4". I had to use bushing to make it fit. This was my first project installing a solenoid and it worked the first time around. I had wondered how the manual control will work, but all it is a lever that by turning, loosens the solenoid enough to trigger the diaphragm to open the valve. I have buried the valve in sand with a temporary cover and will soon place the valve in a box and I hope the valve continues to function. Not bad for a $24.00 (free delivery) product.

I recently had the system installed and in use, that is why I took so long to post my feed back ( even though I purchase the system some ago). So far it is working ok with the automatic sprinkler station. One problem I noted from the start after installation, before I start using the system. Some of the values ( not all ) were allowing the water to leak through the line all the way to the pop up sprinkler heads. I tried adjusting the manual shut off switch on values but they still leak.
