Makes great coffee
I have been using Imusa's stove top 6 cup pot for about 1 year, I have brewed my coffee this way for over 30 years and have had several brands of this style brewer. I bought the electric brewer so I could take it with me when I travel, It is well made, works very well and makes great coffee. Having said that, it is not a six cup as advertised it is more of a seven or eight cup, as you can see in the photos it is quite a bit bigger than the stove top version and it is heavier and bulkier( to be expected since it is electric). I don't understand why Imusa decided to make the top plastic instead of using their original design and just adding the electric boiler to it, (FYI they are not interchangeable). It uses more water and more coffee. Overall I am very pleased with the purchase even though I would have preferred a slightly smaller version (a true 6 cup) but all in all I would recommend it.

In love this. Well priced
Great coffee. Great point. Easy to work with. I want to see some improvements: Allow the lid to be pulled off so I can clean it better. Also provide a brush to clean the bottom. The LED is a little dicey. One unit continued to work even when the LED was off. I want to take this with me everywhere. Alas it is only110v. Can we have dual voltage? You would double the market! All the same, I love this and will gift it in a heartbeat. I bought three and one went bad. Waiting for dual voltage version!!!

I am OBSESSED!
If you’re like me, you could live entirely off of Starbucks iced shaken espressos. I don’t have the budget for daily fancy coffee purchases or an actual espresso machine. I also don’t have the patience to wait in a drive thru line or brew two shots with all sorts of gadgetry. Even though I don’t drink hot coffee, I still like to have something on hand to brew a cup for guests. So I bought this on a whim and it has totally changed my morning routine. I actually timed it the first week of trying it out, this baby only takes FOUR MINUTES from pressing “on” to give you silky smooth espresso. As long as you follow the directions, you’ll get tasty results and zero leaks every time. My guests say it’s the best cup of coffee they’ve had from home, and that’s after watering it down to fill up a regular sized mug. The pieces are a little annoying to clean, but so far that’s the only con I can think of which is mostly just me being lazy vs a design flaw. Buying this once for $30 vs spending 5+ dollars each trip on the way to work has saved me so much money already, plus I have my method dialed down and it’s made to my liking every time. I even made a batch of brown sugar syrup to sweeten my iced concoctions. Buy it, then buy a cocktail shaker and some decent medium roast beans, and you’ll be in iced espresso heaven.

Works well, but no real benefit over Stovetop
This makes great coffee. It works as intended. Here's the biggest problem: There is no auto shut-off. This means: -You still can't walk away from your Moka pot. -You can't even set up a SmartPlug to get this thing going - it says to never run it without water, and the brewing time isn't consistent enough to set a shut-off time on the SmartPlug. I feel that the only benefit would be to those who have to have electric, maybe for Travel or RV. The other downsides for me are: -The plastic top, which for the price just makes me ever so slightly disappointed while trying to like this brewer. -The manual says to remove all stickers. Well there is this "Caution Hot" sticker on it that is akin to that silver security sticker you see on some electronics. When I peeled it off, the glue came right off - of the sticker! ... leaving caked-on strong adhesive on the side of the pot. Took a solid 10 mins to clean off (I didn't want to take GooGone to a brand new appliance). Basically, I'm still watching the thing, it's the same cleanup, half of the device is lesser-quality (and the rest is still that cheap aluminum) - why am I paying $40 for that when I'm just using it 2' from my stove? My recommendation is that unless you have to have the electric because flame is unavailable, save money and get the stovetop. Or if you're gonna spend upwards of $40, might as well get a Bialetti. But if you're fine paying double (compared to stovetop Imusa) to have an electric hot-plate you can't use for anything else and a cheap plastic pitcher, you'll still get a great cup of coffee.

Works perfectly
It’s quiet, quick, efficient and has worked like a charm for me. I set it up then get ready and come back for my espresso. I’ve tried half pot and full pot using the little basket divider to alter the amount of grounds the pot takes. I’ve noticed the flavor is better when making a full pot. I drink half pot in the morning hot, and fridge the rest for iced lattes later that day. Keeps for 3days in fridge no problem! Doesn’t give you a rich crema on top but the flavor is good. The instructions say not to tamp or press down the espresso, but I do so lightly to get more grounds in and I get a richer flavor this way. It doesn’t burn or make bitter espresso, but I do turn it off right away when done. Recommend.

Love this unit!
So happy I found this coffee maker - I travel quite a bit & NEED good coffee. This unit is perfect for making quality coffee in a hotel room - doesn't take up much space in luggage & you only need the grounds (I use Bustelo), water & an outlet. It is also very easy to use. A couple of reviews mentioned a "plastic taste" & the first time I used this, it did have a faint taste of the plastic - however, it was only on the first use - not since. I have a traditional stovetop aluminum model as well (not made by IMUSA) & I have to say that this unit is as good as it is - have even used this electric unit at the house a few times vs my stovetop one. Overall - I would recommend this, especially if you travel & don't want "hotel coffee".
