My zipper broke in a vest that I really liked. I tried to fix it and made it worse. I saw this zipper on Amazon. It is a bit heavier than the old one, but that's good! It'll last longer. I'd never installed a zipper before but it turned out pretty good. You'll need a zipper-foot for your sewing machine to sew in a zipper. My machine came with one - but I'd never used it - so I didn't have to buy anything. You can always sew one in by hand but that might take some time! Overall, it's a nice double-sided zipper.

YKK Vislon is the simply the best plastic zipper out there. Brass is best but not always appropriate. These zippers are easy to sew in and will far outlast the garment. It’s always the zipper that fails before the garment, so sew your own back in and keep that expensive coat for a few more years. Cut both sides of the failed zipper off and sew these in on top. Not too tough. If you have a seamstress do the job, specify Vislon or buy the zipper first and hand it to them.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received this zipper. I thought there was a pull on each side but turns out that the "pull" can be moved from front to back. I needed a zipper that I can swap sides installing in a jacket and this fit the bill perfectly.

I ordered a 12inch zipper but got a pack of 12 zip ends....the zippers without the 12inch piece that completes it for sowing into the garment. So the vendor made the error-I did Not order the wrong thing. Very inconveniencing and annoying. We are all the way in Jamaica!
