I use this knife for several tasks, from scaling fish to cleaning small game (squirrels, rabbits, frogs, etc.) And it's awesome! The blunt end prevents me from poking myself, the blade design allows for the versatility of use, and the release on the handle is perfect for me as someone who is left handed, allowing me to easily access the knife when I need it! Another great Gerber product!

Clip broke during an entry exit procedure in a kayak. Also - had to press a bit hard to get the knife to click into the sheath.Sheath clip should have a metal reinforcement, way too flimsy. Also - triangle nub at end of clip doesn't hold it in the standard PFD attachment very well, should have a J at the end of the clip.Knife is good though, just wish the sheath was way better.Gerber replaced the knife and sheath with a new one. I'm happy, still need to make a new sheath out of metal somehow though. Regardless - good knife.

This is a great knife very light and sharp , suitable for any outdoor purpose .I mostly use it when fishing but also take it on my belt when hiking.

Sheath clip broke first time trying to swap to a different life jacket. Now what?

I would not buy this knife again. Why? Because thesheath you place it in is cheap and flimsy. If you attachit to your accessory belt the knife will fall out. The firsttime I used the knife in sheath it fell out twice on the floor.I’m lucky it didn’t fall off my boat into the water. it is theSheath that will fall on the floor containing the knife. Itshould have a belt loop hole so the sheath will remain on yourbelt. I tried to call Gerber Knives customer service number anda recording came on to leave a message. Quality companies shouldhave live customer service people.
