Bought this to spray some outdoor lights with. The reviews had a bit of a reputation for them rusting so I’ve sprayed as a precaution. Too early to say yet if that’s still rust free. But it was easy to apply and dried very quickly.

How can one rate durability a week or so after receiving the item? That's why I've given only 4/5 as overall rating; it might be worth 5/5. The task I've assigned to the Rust Shield is quite tough: protecting a model biplane, made of ungalvanised sheet steel, and out in the garden in all weathers. The product was easy to apply and there was enough in the can to give the little plane four coats. After a few days of wettish weather there's no sign of rust. Without the coating I can guarantee that the whole thing would have been yellow with rust. But I'm looking for a couple of years' protection. We shall have to wait and see.

Really liked this product. Bought it to spray on my engine bay and metals. Cant say how well it will last on the actual engine block with high temps but everything else it seems to be affective on. Strong spray but does not come with a spray straw but directionally it was ok for what I need it for. Sprayed my entire engine area and lasting ok. easy to clean engine post treatment, though still need normal cleaner but area has not corroded following cleaning. I'd probably do multiple coats and let dry in between. Doesn't take long to dry. Do you prep work first though and properly otherwise you'll be wasting your time and money on this product. It needs a clean surface and you don't want to trap dirt under it. Doesn't last too long so it loses a star for value. Smells good, looks good, easy enough to use accept deep crevices. However, that is for what I was using it for, you may want it for something totally different. Cannot comment on anything else beyond the car use. I can't see why it wouldn't work on say metal furniture etc.

Good price, great product does want everything you want to do. Very easy to use. But remember to shake up very well and make sure can is at room temperature before using.

I used this lacquer to coat some toilet seat brackets that had some rust spots on. It’s been about two weeks since I sprayed them and so far so good but it’s early days. The lacquer goes on evenly but is not quite clear, it’s a bit misty but not enough to worry me for my purpose. It is touch dry after about 20 mins but I followed the instructions to leave for 24 hours before handling and reinstalling. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.
