THIS was a throwback! Watched this for the first time in 2021! Damn! This came out in 2001. Same year as Dude Where's My Car which was my favorite movie back then. Man, I remember this whole vibe. That was the SCENE, son! Amazing movie. Silly and funny to the core. Love love love it. Recommended it to my 60 yo white parents. I am sure they will love it and are in for a treat ;)

I remember Method Man & Redman had a TV series long ago but I never thought they made a movie together. As two stoners clash to get smarter in college. These two are great and hilariously funny. That one scene when they speak out to getting a student kicked off class. Great performances and roles by Method Man, Redman, Mike Epps, Fred Willard, Jeffrey Jones & Lark Voorhies. Highly recommended.

I haven't listened to much rap music since the 1980's so I really didn't know who Method Man and Redman are, but that really didn't make a difference after my husband and I started watching this film on a satellite TV channel. We did not, I repeat, did not stop laughing. Stoned stories, of which I have a few from my youth, are always hilarious and this film takes that premise to a super-elevated (high) level. Method Man's character Silas takes a scientific approach to cultivating his herb, and his mother keeps hounding him to take the college entrance exams. His friend Ivory does too, since Silas is a talented amateur botanist and Ivory thinks he should get an education and get a degree for his abilities. Sadly, Ivory dies early in the story and Silas honors him by using his friend's ashes to fertilize a new strain of cannabis he's developed. He goes to take the exams and smokes up before to take the edge off his nerves. He sees another fellow (Redman) doing the same thing. They realize they are kindred spirits, share a joint of the special weed together, and start taking the exams. The spirit of Ivory appears to them, tells them his spirit is called upon whenever the weed is smoked, sort of like a genie, and proceeds to tell them all of the correct answers on the exams. They ace the tests, and all the Ivy League colleges in the U.S. want them at their institutions since the push is on to accept students of color and these two happen to be, apparently, bona fide geniuses. So that's the set up. I'll say very little more since I refuse to be a spoiler. The bad guys in this film are the richy-rich elites of all races who refuse to accept the fact that a couple of guys from the ghetto are accepted for their smarts and money does not win. If I say anything else, it takes away from the awesome, screamingly hilarious situations that occur one after the other. It's the surprises that make this film work. I'd say if the filmmakers were inspired by anyone, it's Mel Brooks, Adam Sandler and of course Cheech and Chong. And since I stopped using marijuana quite a while ago, I don't know if it's better to see this movie stoned or straight. I'd say, see it straight first, then see it stoned. I think that would work OK.

This is still as funny as the first time I watched it 15 years ago.

This is one of my top favorite five movies of all time. I think this movie is so funny every time I watch it. You will enjoy this movie, even on a bad day.

Ok so received this DVD. It’s a must watch, really funny. But as soon as I got the DvVD I put it in to watch it with my dad. The film was glitching, it was stopping. It was like buffering. If you gonna get this DVD, make sure you get the new one, because the used ones are crap.

Two guys by the name of Silas and Jamal decided to one day smoke something magical, which eventually helps them to ace their college entrance exam. This eventually lands them in Harvard, where they're surrounded by the world of Ivy Leaguers. Although their new lifestyle is much different from back home, they kept on having fun until their supernatural smoke runs out. Now, they are on their own and they have to rely on each other to survive.

An absolutely hilarious, entertaining, clever film that will have anyone in hysterics laughing at it from start to finish! I'm proud to have this now added to my collection of amazing stoner comedy DVD's! Brilliant acting and brilliant film all round...worth watching!!

Classic film man if you have not seen this Film yet you are missing out it's so funny from Start till End. I recommend this to people who love comedy films about getting high also if you are massive fans of Method Man & Redman's music this film is four you.

There are some really funny moments in this film. I had almost forgotten what a laugh it is. My friends and I enjoy this and the dvd plays with no problems at all. Delivery was in good time aswell.
