Fenteer Silent Quartz Clockwork Quartz Clockwork Wall Clockwork Replacement for Wall Clocks , 8.9mm No Thread Shaft

Needed to find a replacement for an older mantle clock and this fitted perfectly and works well.

I had a little clock that needed a replacement mechanism and the original had no shaft and this was the only one of that kind I could find. It seems still a little larger than the original and a key problem was that the spindles have a smaller diameter than other mechanisms I have and the hands didn't fit as a result. I fixed this by putting a tiny piece of electrical shrink tubing over the spindle and then putting the hands on. It needed trimming with a razor blade to make sure it didn't impede the movement but that seems to have done the job and a pretty little clock that would otherwise have been destined for the dustbin is now working again.

This is great, simple and easy to fit at a great price.

Do not buy this without hands

Had to take a punt in the end as the overall dimension appeared identical to the existing which is housed in a very tight plastic mould. When it arrived the moulded fittings to hold in place needed some manual adjustment (cutting back) to make it fit.

Product was as described and fitted easily into clip fitting. Original hands all fitted well. Clock seems to be as accurate as described and does not tick - however there is a slight whurring noise as the second hand moves so it is not completely silent. After a few weeks it seems a worthwhile purchase and saved a useable clock from being thrown away.
