Burns stable at 8.2x on Asus bw-16d1ht inside vantec nexstar DX2 usb3 external enclosure
Used makeMKV with 42GB movie and it burned this verbatim bd-r DL disc in 26.5 mins, I saw speeds up to 8.1x using Asus bw-16d1ht inside vantec nexstar DX2 usb3 external enclosure. This is the DX2 not the original DX, replaced the power supply with delta electronics adp-50yh B power adapter for a laptop supplies 12v 4.16amps 50watts , connector is a perfect fit , asus fits great in the enclosure.I saw no bubbling or damage of this verbatim bd-r DL disc after the burn, someone else reviewed that their disc bubbled, that can only be from a burner that has a laser that's too strong. Get the one I use and it should work 100%Tutorial: use makemkv and select backup and check the box for decrypt these files. Use ImgBurn to burn those folders called bdmv, makemkv, certificate. It preserves all menus , subtitles, etc from the original. It will play on a PS5, which is known to not play burned Blu rays.Flash the stock 3.10 firmware with a cross patched firmware called 3.10 MK, makemkv than recognizes that libredrive is available and that microcode is enabled.*update - I bought this external case beginning of April 2023, it's now middle of Sept 2023, so about 5 months, its held up quite nice, I've ripped through 121 DVD's and 70 Blu rays with e burner and this case. The case has held up well. I did have a failure of the Asus bw-16d1ht which died pretty quick, the 2nd Asus bw-16d1ht I got has been holding okay so far however I've had to disconnect it and reconnect it a few times , it appears like it just stops being recognized possibly due to overheating. It could be because the case has not enough air flow and the drive is naturally hot, dunno. I did have to find a guy on the makemkv forum, his guide is called "Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023", and his username is Billycar11, he makes custom flashers to enable libredrive/ microcode. The second Asus bw-16d1ht had a much more recent manufacture date which can explain why it was more reliable but would not allow me to use the 3.10 MK firmware, so Billy had to make me a custom flasher, very strange and cool , it executed using .BAT files which I haven't seen since the early years of windows. cost was like $25 but he used some strange payment app called Zelle. it updated asus to 3.11. if this drive dies he recommended pioneer drives. from reading amazon reviews the internal ones are more reliable, blly also has a list of specific models as well. oh also the delta power supply still works well

This is Great to Back-up your important Data in only one Disc
I've used 3 Verbatim BD-R 50 Gb Discs before, and my Burning ROM Software gave my 100% good sectors. With this package I bought from Amazon, I had no bad sectors in the first Disc, but got 128 bad sectors in the second Back-up. What I did is that my Software reports the name of the file which was saved on the bad sectors area, so I recorded that file in a DVD, along with a few other files. I recorded a 3rd Back-up and was reported 100% fine. In large Data quantities discs as this ones, is possible to have some bad or damaged sectors on a few discs. Is not supposed to happen too often, but it can happen. That's why I use this software that verifies every sector after burning disc, and reports any errors. You still can use the data, but if you save software on bad sectors, your backed-up software possibly will not work fine. If you save a Word document, you may have a few or more bad data. But I've used Verbatim Discs since 2 years ago, and I've find that they are reliable. As I said, depending on your hardware, and other factors, in a few discs, among several ones, you may find one or two with damaged or bad sectors, but I understand this discs have warranty, so you can check the information on the box, if you got a package with many discs with bad or damaged sectors, if you want to claim the warranty, I understand you can, but if it's only one out of 10 discs, you may not want to lose time, and efforts claiming the warranty for that disc. So, in summary, so far, 2 out of 3 discs have been 100% fine, so I pray when I finished backing-up my documents and data, I'll have no more bad or damaged sectors.I recommend Verbatim Discs very much. I've burned more than 100 25 Gb BD-R Discs, and 6 50 Gb ones, so about 95% have been 100% Good. Just try to use software that verifies your burned discs, and if you want to be sure, and have not verifying software, check your data, you have any other way to verify your data, though 50 Gb is much data to check, so, good luck!

very nice blu-ray media
I purchased these to use in a new Blu-ray burner that I purchased so that I could do backups of various larger things I have like class materials, music, photos. These worked fine for what I needed.

They are expensive, but good for phots and videos.
Optical media is quickly going away, but at $3.50 per 50Gb of longevity - it’s still the best archive media. I do a lot of 4k videos, and these are great for archiving the raw cuts. So far, I have only burned one without any error. I tried the cheap-o generics, and they make great drink coasters because they don’t verify. I’ve learned, you need to get brand name because you can loose a lot of data using generic blanks.

Product arrived perfectly from shipper, but.....
Product arrived in shipping perfectly, however i have NOT had any opportunity to burn a 25GB or 50GB BDR yet because i am having faulty problems with the DRIVE itself and NOT ANY with this media at all .... yet.Verbatim have always had the highest reputation for digital storage media, in my book, for decades. THEY ARE THE ONLY MEDIA I TRUST 100% and ALWAYS WILL.I will update this review to be even more fair, once i get a successful burn from my (also new) crappy BDR drive :-\ (i am having hardware problems with burning, NOT with this media at all yet since i have not yet burned any of this media yet)

10 for 10 all had writing failures
Bought a 10 pack of 25gb, 10 pack of 50gb, and a 10 pack of 100gb all Verbatim brand. All 100gb burned perfectly with zero errors, but every single one of these failed. DO NOT BUYHopefully I get a refund…. Hopefully.

Excellent, Reliable, Affordable...
Love it, they are simply a joy to copy to. It comes in a spindle of 10 and ready to use, one of the best if not the best to back up your files and any other medium for preserving your digital valuables. The price is also good, for less than $60 you will have 50 GB of storage at 6x recordable time per disc. If you are new to BD disks, this is the one to pick up.
