It works!!
I will start by saying, I am not a plumber, I am a DIY’er with not a lot of plumbing experience. I am quite a confident DIY’er and will have a go at anything (within reason).I decided to install a chrome waste kit to a bathroom sink, and found that the 32mm pvc waste pipe fittings would not fit onto the chrome pipe. I tried compression fit, push fit and pipe weld. All were to big for the chrome pipe. The problem is that 32mm measurement relates to the inside diameter of the pipe, and not the outside diameter, and the chrome pipe wall is a few millimetres slimmer than the pvc pipe wall. So you end up needing a reducer. This is quite literally the only thing out there that will fit 32mm chrome to 32mm pvc that I could find. It works by compressing 2 rubber washers around the chrome pipe to fill the gap between the pipe and this fitting, then pipe welds to the pvc. The compression fitting to the pvc is a little bit awkward as the rubber washers need to lined up perfectly, but once they are on it’s a straight forward weld to the pvc pipe. It took me a couple of attempts to get the chrome side fitted right, but worth the effort… And 8 months later this is still working fine.

Got the job done
For the benefit of DIYers add a diagram to show where and how rubber seals fit.

Needed to extend a chrome bottletrap to an outside drain from a cloakroom. This was the ideal product

Useful adapter for compression to solvent weld plastic pipe.
Used to successfully connect chromed brass waste pipe from basin to solvent weld plastic waste pipe. Good quality, well made, looks good and no leaks. Would recommend.

It's OK but..
Connecting this to a chrome waste with chrome pipe to convert to plastic waste pipe is all well and good but where do you make the connection? If you don't want to see the plastic part inside or the chrome part outside then connect it in the cavity..? mmm? Better be 100% sure it's not going to leak. This is the first time I've used a chrome trap. Thought it would look nicer then white plastic and it does but in future I think I'll stick to boxing in/making a cupboard or vanity unit to hide it all.

Just the job
Used for 1 1/4 "| pipe to exit through the wall under a basin, gave a nice clean finish at the transition.
