No noise, easy to program, works well. Stays at 1-2 degrees lower then you set the temp
Just tried it out last night. There was a brief smell that lasted maybe a 12 hr or so. I set the temp at 70. and it kept the room at 69. When we went to sleep we turned it down to 60 and it kept the room at 59. Which is fine with me. I can just set the temp a degree or to warmer then I want and get it to the 60 or 70 temp I need. No noise what so ever. Our house thermostat is in the living room and the bedrooms are always freezing cold. I can put it on a timer for up to 12 hrs. This is such a game changer for me. I did take mine apart to see what was banging around in it when I moved it around. It was the mechanism that turns it off if it should tip over. I tested this out when it was on and it work great. I feel really warm and toasty, and safe. Its so nice that its silent. No ticking popping or cracking sounds when it comes on! Im buying more for our other bedrooms and 1 for my mom.

Not Perfect But The Best I've Found So Far
This is my favorite space heater. I had previously bought two from a different store (in black). Unfortunately, after several months one broke (just stopped working). BUT after searching around for alternatives I just decided to go with this model again (in white this time, not that the color really matters to me). I figure technology like this is just bound to break eventually, and there are plenty of horror stories about other brands that made me not want to take my chances with them. What I like about this heater:- It's silent. Really, there's no motor or fan at all, just a large electrified plate. If you hear anything at all, it will be the click when it turns on or off (unless your ears are sensitive enough that you can sense the vibration of electrical current through a large resistor).- It has a digital temperature control and reading that's LED so you can read it in the dark.- It's small and slim and fits just about anywhere (like at the foot of my bed).- It can heat my entire small bedroom to a comfortable 72 degrees even when it's 30 degrees outside and there's no other heat source in my house. The only downside with the previous two (black) heaters I bought from a different store (not Amazon) is that after a week of usage the down temperature button broke, so the only way to decrease the temperature was to keep pressing the up button until it rolled over. But so far this hasn't happened with the (white) model I bought from Amazon, so either it's random chance it didn't happen again or the original manufacturers fixed that design flaw.

Very Nice Heater
We purchased this heater for a few reasons. It can be plugged into a wall, it was under 30" inches long, & seeing good reviews. Well, we do love it. I have a huge kitchen that is on a north wall of my house. I do have a furnace with radiators in my old house. I also did get replacement windwos in 2012, & we blew in insulation into the outer walls. But all the rooms on that north side of my house can still be a bit chillier than the rooms on the north side of the house. I placed this baseboard heater against the north wall of my kitchen under a bench seating for my kitchen table. It is a foot away from a tall but small kitchen radiator on the corner. I do turn it on a couple times a day. One time is In the morning when we first get up, walk our dogs, then feed them in the kitchen. So it takes the "bite off of the cold", & makes it comfortable for our dogs to eat. That 1st time on is for about 1.5-2 hours. Then I shut it off. I may need to use it during the late afternoon/early evening when feeding our dogs again, or when starting dinner. Oh, & my husband put a 8 dollar light timer we purchased from Walmart, on the electric socket, then plugged the heater into that. So the heater will not be on during the night, as the timer is set make it stay off between 9:30pm & 6:30am. But I am able to turn it on/off anytime during the hours we are awake from 6:30am-9:30pm. So this heater has fit into our lifestyle very well.

The optimus 30" baseboard heater.
Thisheater is easy to use and very efficient? I would buy it again. I use it in a basement room that has no heat.and it warmed up very fast

Lousy heater
Really doesn't work well. In the lower setting, it's useless for temperature control, with like zero heating added to the room. But even in the higher setting, left it on all night and it barely budged the temperature up, with barely any noticeable warming effect. I thought it was going to be a great deal but it ended up being cheap and I had to return it. You get what you pay for.

Best so far
Over the years, we have gone through several of these. Usually the thermostat doesn't work. Most last two years before they die. I like the size of this and the thermostat does work. Let's see if it last longer than two years and I will be extremely happy.

Thermostat response range is not the best
The digital thermostat does not keep a very consistent temperature, it can be 2 or 3 degrees F below the setting and still not kick in. (My whole purpose in using a space heater was to try to get a more consistently regulated temperature than my in-wall heater was providing, so that is a real disappointment).Everything else about it is perfectly fine.

Works great but could be improved
This heater solved my problem! My office has poor airflow from my central heat and I was not happy using forced-air space heaters. I placed this heater beneath the window behind my desk chair and leave the ceiling fan on low and it is always comfortable in my office.I am a little disappointed in the temperature controls, the range of acceptable temperature seems to swing greatly; Sometimes it will turn on when the temp is 1 degree cooler than the set temp, sometimes it will wait until it is 2-3 degrees cooler. Sometimes it will shut off when the set temperature is reached, sometimes it over shoots by 1, 2, or even three degrees. A 6 degree swing doesn't seem like much until you're shivering at your keyboard!Seeking to solve this issue I began researching plug-in and even smart thermostat options but discovered that this heater loses all settings and defaults to the off setting if it loses power. I'm sure this is for safety but it rules out using an external thermostat, so I am stuck with the temperature reading at the floor and wild temperature swings.Even though I have to fiddle with the controls a few times each day, I am still happy with the heater and for the price, I will keep it.

Very Lightweight, Good Thermostatic Controls
This is a nice fairly compact size heater. No fan, so no noise, not much popping and clicking sounds either as the unit cycles on an off.My only issue is the grill on the top gets very hot, i.e you could burn a hand, and its definitely not kid safe. Of course it is putting out 1,500 watts of heat (750 on its low setting), but I wish it had some sort of secondary metal protective cover that reduced the touch temperature to a lesser level. As long as you understand this hot to touch aspect, it seems like an effective heater and good for spot heating a smaller cool room.

Turned into a flamethrower!
On the positive side I have to admit it was a good little heater while it lasted, and I did get 5 winters out of it. On the not so great side, had it in my bedroom, awoke to a burning smell only to see flames shooting out of the top of it near the controls. I don't think I would recommend.

Great for our nursery
This is working great in our baby’s nursery. It’s the coldest room in the house by far and thermostat-controlled fans cycling on and off were disturbing her sleep. After trying/returning just about every “quiet” heater fan on the market, we are so happy to have finally found something that works for us! I love that it’s portable and can be plugged into an outlet, no hardwiring required. The thermostat works well and keeps the room very comfortable. It runs silently and looks good. Love that you can set it to run on 750 watts for energy efficiency. It’s got good safety features as well. My only concern with a baby is it does get quite hot to the touch, however, so did most of the fans that I tried and we mostly use it when the baby is sleeping in her crib anyway. So far we are loving it.

Good heater
The digital controls are accurate if not senior confusing. If performs well as a heater.
