OXO Steel Chef's Mandoline

Sturdy but produces very fine cut. And has various options. More expensive than some but probably more substantial.

Brilliant bit of kit. Easy to use and clean.

A new hobby, I thought. I'll be the next George Formby. Well, I can't get a note out of it, and my fingertips are cut to shreds! I've decided to chuck it out of the way in a kitchen cupboard where it can't do any more harm. ;-)

The blade doesn’t lock in place when in use

…. In the food holder! Whilst you need a food holder/hand protector, the spring on this is so strong that you can easily pinch the skin in your fingers because you have to cup and hold onto the part whilst sliding the food on the bed of the mandolin. It is also very sharp (to be expected of course) but these things are really tricky to use without running the risk of cutting off a limb or two, though I do appreciate you can buy special gloves to protect your hands. For me it’s quicker to either chop by hand or throw into a food processor!

Bought last November and the blade is no sharp enough. The two teeth for cutting are not sharp enough, as any veg be get snagged and it just rips the vegetables. Main blade will only cut potatoes well, I’ve even had issues cutting cucumbers! Very dissatisfied. I would love to return as I may have a defective product (have a few oxo gadgets and always been happy with their quality and longevity)

As delivered, my cutter won't cut anything larger than 6mm without tearing. Cause:: dull cutter blade. If y ou're silly enough to buy this, be sure to buy diamond sharpening sticks (also on amazon). It's a shame, because I have had outstanding products from OXO. I blame the seller for pushing a repackaged item.

Magnifique mandoline professionnelle OXO tout en acier inoxydable, avec une précision de coupe et un tranchant remarquables. Elle passe au lave-vaisselle et la lame peut s'enlever. Le réglage de l'épaisseur de coupe est super simple à faire. Je taille concombres, pommes de terre, courgettes, carottes... Je ne me sers pas de l'ustensile permettant "d'accrocher" un aliment pour ne pas se couper en le taillant, par contre j'ai acheté (toujours sur Amazon) une paire de gants anti coupe à 10€ environ et c'est vraiment indispensable avec cette mandoline sinon je me serais tranchée un doigt ou deux. Je ne regrette pas d'avoir opté pour un modèle haut de gamme tout en inox, la qualité est au rendez-vous !

Quite a tricky mandoline to use. Don't expect french fries as the julienne setting is very small. Found try to julliene carrots very tricky. Gets stuck all the time.
