Get beginner book first
As with any learning method, it is best to start from scratch with that method. Because there are always tidbits and tads of info that are different than you've learned in the past from someone else. Everyone teaches differently and introduces subjects at different sections of a course. I'm like a beginning intermediate and I started with this book hoping I wouldn't need the beginner course book, but after a few pages, decided to get the beginner course book and glad I did. A better intermediate at one time, but just picking up the guitar every few years, I've dropped back. This is my first intermediate book. I am a Classical guitarist so I am not exacting adhering to every word that comes from Justin who is mostly a Folk/Western guitarist, but I've found enough "nuggets" of information, as he calls it, to improve my playing already. I am not interested in learning strumming sing-a-along songs, but just to improve my playing... So, if you are an "on again, off again" semi-interemediate player like myself, I suggest getting the beginner book first.

In line with beginner book 1
Still working on book one, but after looking at intermediate level it looks great. Book follows beginner level with same outline with tips and practice methods to improve. He’s a great teacher. Having these books in addition to song book is the best way to start.

Great book for intermediate players
Have used Beginners book and this one. Justin Sandercoe is one of the best on the web. Books are detailed with good pictures and you can go to his website if need more.

Justin is the best.
….but its still a book. Its no substitute for an actual teacher or a friend. It gave me a little inspiration at one time but I think I only ended up using about 20% of the book. I'd stick with videos if the real live thing isn't available unless your learning style is strictly the book type.

Great teacher.
I finished the beginner’s course and like the way Justin teaches and ordered the intermediate course. He starts out with barre chords, which are challenging for my small hand, but, like the F chord, practice, practice, practice.

The best method out there
So many of these guitar methods start well enough but then drown you in loads of boring music theory. Not this one, it's mostly about playing.

Best online guitar teacher around!
I have been following Justin Sandercoe for years now and he is, without doubt, the best online teacher there is!! If he had just £1 for every hit on his websites he would be a multi-millionaire!! Everything is well thought out; well devised; well shot and well taught - I have surfed the net many times and not found a teacher that comes anywhere near to him for value and quality. I was recently given an Amazon Gift Card so went on the website to see if I could find a book that would fulfil the other queries that I have about playing the guitar, and finished up buying another one of his books as I couldn't find another that gave me what I wanted!I've looked at other posts on this site and can only say that many of the people who have given only one or two stars are, really, not only nit-picking but completely missing the point! You have to remember that Justin's teaching works best if you combine what is on his website (which I do) with the written word - you cannot, and should not, divorce one from the other! There are, however, times when it might not be possible to go onto the website so the books are a great follow-up and gap filler. Go onto his website at "Justin Guitar" and you will find an unprecedented wealth of videos and teaching material that works superbly well. I have also read posts that criticise his "Intermediate Course" book for not showing this or that or chords etc etc. These people seem to forget that in reading the Intermediate Course book you SHOULD already know this information so why repeat it in a book that is aimed at the Intermediate and NOT the Beginner???? Get real people!!Let's hope he carries on for years to come doing what he does best and let's hope people think twice before posting comments that are both inaccurate and ill conceived!!!

A good book for beginners to intermediate players
As a self taught intermediate player there were certainly a few items that I’d missed and are really useful, which in my opinion made the book worth the price. For my opinion I’d say the book is aimed at a beginner to an intermediate level player. The content is well presented and very approachable.Check out his YouTube channel, his enthusiasm and passion for the guitar comes through in the book as well. This book is great for beginners (maybe not a first book), but he also has other books for beginners. If you plan to stick at the guitar and take it seriously this is a definite one to purchase.I play regularly at events and I have recovered the cost of the book (vs lessons) from just a few sections. If you are more experienced and have gone past full bar chord shapes, you still might get something out of this book. For the cost of one lesson I’d add it to my bookshelf for sure.

Best Guitar Teacher
If you want to learn guitar or improve your playing, Justin's products are the best. He has a real passion and talent for teaching and always explains and presents things clearly. His lessons are manageable, not overwhelming. I already have his Intermediate Method DVDs but couldn't resist buying the book when it came out because there are times when a proper paper book is really useful.Learning is fun thanks to the clear, easy-to-follow layout, helpful photographs, chord diagrams and practice schedule and the way that the course is split into stages gives a real sense of progress and achievement. If you're just starting out, check out the Beginner's Course (there's a book, a set of DVDs and a songbook) before you get stuck in to the Intermediate Course to give yourself the proper foundation.Of course, you still need a level of commitment and motivation to find the time to learn guitar, but Justin's courses really help you get the most out of the time you spend.

Great for beginners
These books are excellent for beginners. Justin is very good at describing how to go about things and his books make it easy to understand and learn. I have tried other books but they simply don't compare. Well worth the investment if you are starting out.

Easy to use
A quality product printed on A4 with a ring binder, this makes it easy to leave open when playing. The content as with previous books by Justin Guitar is excellent & continues where from the Beginners Course.
