Most practical book on SI and PI
Depending who you are, this book may or may not be your first choice on studying PI and SI. If you are an engineering who is looking for practical and fast-to-use design guidelines for SI and PI in products, this is THE book for you. The book gives simple equations for design guidelines without derivation throughout the book. However, clear and intuitive explanations are given for each equation. This is even better than rigorous derivation. Also design tips are given throughout the book, which is extremely useful. However, if you are a academic researcher and rigorous about physics behind equations, this may not be the book for you. As I said, the design equations are given without derivation. But you can come back to this book after you go though other more theoretical books on SI and PI. You will find more intuitive explanation from here than other books, which deepens your understanding. Equations are good but intuitive understanding are more important sometimes. Anyway, this book is highly recommended to anyone who want to step into SI and PI world.

The SI Bible is Now Even Better
I consider this book the bible for the signal integrity board designer. The third edition of this book includes updated material to enable a better understanding of how to analyze and interpret the high-speed channel performance whether using a scope or the s-parameters extracted from a 3D simulation. There is no formula or rule of thumb that will ensure a successful project above 25 Gb/s project. However, by reading differential pairs in chapter 11 and s-parameters in chapter 12, the design engineer can develop intuition on how to interpret and improve results by understanding the basics of signaling both, in the frequency and time domains. Chapter 13 reviews in detail how to build successful PDNs explaining in plain English the interaction between inductance and capacitance and how to optimize the capacitance selection and mounting inductance to meet the impedance target.

An absolute treasure
I literally ended up reading this massive book cover to cover. This is easily the most valuable text I've ever read with regard to PCB design, and also the most intuitive to understand. So much makes sense now. Chapters 6-9 on the fundamental physical basis of capacitance, inductance, and transmission really helped give a much more solid basis for my understanding of why we do certain things in PCB layout.

Best Engineering Book I have ever read
I am a practicing electrical engineer, and this is a book I decided to read on my own, after work and on weekends. Getting straight to the point - this is an excellent book and is one that I would highly recommend to any person aspiring to be in, or practicing in the electrical/electronics engineering field. As I progress through the book I have thought to myself over and over again how I wish I would have found this book sooner, or taken a class in college where this book was used. I was initially introduced to the book through Erics website, the signal integrity academy ( bethesignal.com ) which I received a free trial subscription to through my employer. During this free trial I took the "Essential Principles of Signal Integrity" course, and after that I was hooked. During the online class I was really impressed with the way Dr. Bogatin was able to convey the same concepts I had studied for several years in new ways that focused on building a strong engineering intuition and in doing so facilitated a deeper level of understanding. The unique value in this book is that it simultaneously teaches the concepts needed to understand and analyze signal integrity problems while also teaching the reader how to be a effective engineer by giving them a myriad of tools which fuel the readers engineering judgement and allow them to have faster time to insight when real problems arise, without compromising the quality or technical rigor of the end product. Even if you work in another technical field (and electronics isn't your thing) I would still recommend this book (and the EPSI course) because I deeply believe that the problem solving approach taught by Dr. Bogatin is one that can be applied generally and universally to help people become truly effective problem solvers.

Das Buch ist ein sehr gutes Buch für den Bereich Signalintegrität und Powerintegrität. Herr Bogatin ist eine Koryphäe in diesem Bereich und in den von mir bisher gelesenen Seiten erklärt er auch komplexere Themen sehr gut verständlich.

O livro faz uma ótima cobertura do tema, o que resulta em seu tamanho enorme. A fonte e o espaçamento adotados facilitam bastante a leitura, não tornando a leitura cansativa. A didática do autor também torna a leitura agradável. Um ponto negativo é a impressão. Todo livro está em preto e branco, e algumas imagens estão claras. Para um livro desse preço, esperava uma impressão melhor. Por fim, algo que merece todas as críticas possíveis: o transporte. Esse livro enorme viajou 12.000 km até ser entregue, mas a Amazon achou razoável não utilizar um mísero plástico bolha. O resultado vocês podem ver nas imagens: um livro novo com aspecto de velho. Só não irei devolver por causa do contratempo de ter de levá-lo a uma agência dos Correios. Normalmente, os livros importados comprados na Amazon são muito mal embalados e chegam aqui com algum dano (ou até sujos). O serviço de transporte do Brasil é muito superior.
